Barnegat and Pt. Pleasant get hairy, that's for sure! A few years ago I came out of Barnegat with Lucididee and a friend. My friend was sitting in the back and was pressed into the seat by pushing his legs forward against the bolster. I thin he was a little scared. Then one year coming out of Pt. Pleasant MTM was behind me and hit one of the big swells coming into the inlet and shot straight up like a rocket. Once we cleared the inlet my buddy turns to me and says; "Those were some waves, aye!"

I think the biggest water I was in was when we had a hurricane offshore. When we were in between swells I couldn't see the horizon or the shoreline. We went into Shark River inlet and as we were coming in the inlet I swear we were riding down the face of a wave. When we came out of the inlet I had to wait for the sets of waves to pass so I could make a run for it before the next set came in. I remember my mother later turning to me and saying, "good job."

Actually, come to think of it. One of the roughest rides was home from the Jersey City boat show in Mid October. Remember that Lucididee?

At certain times Raritan Bay can be tricky. When the wind is right the current comes up the Jersey coast and swirls around Lond Island and Staten Island sorta counter clockwise it piles up inside Sandyhook on the shallows then woohoo. You ca see it even on a calm day when leaving you've got a rough spot for about 2 miles. I haven't been to Brigentine or Wildwood yet. I don't think New Jersey has an easy inlet. If I had to choose the Navisink usually be the most mellow.

I like when the big swells are breaking out at Roamer Shoals!

Nick, ask the Gorski's about the time we rode back from Pt. Pleasant. When we stopped at Sandy Hook they both had a strange look on their faces... All they said was, "The boat runs good. I think we saw your props more than anything else."

I think they were surprised that me and my Scarab could keep up with the Bagger.

I was surprised too, you had to be running WFO or close to WOT when we went to Paddy's.

Just to add a little something...many times I've seen inlets rough but once you make it through ....the Ocean was calm and flat. Good way to scare your passengers tell the to hold on..they think they are gonna die and then bam your in the Ocean and it's flat.
