See ya on the 4th of July! Wait, that's just in time for your annual run to the Dippells.

Come on dude, stop procrastinating and cut the cover off. We can have that boat running in 1 hr...... Like you said, "All I have to do is cut the cover off and turn the key..."
install the batteries and fill the motors with oil. I think I need filters, anyplace local I can get hp6 filters? At least the props are already on

Mr V.,

Not sure if it's local to you but lockwood boatworks usually has or can get what you need.

Fill the motors with oil??? Is that so the inside of your oil pans get nice a rusty over the winter?

Please don't tell me you keep them dry? Keeping the old oil in there is better than keeping it dry.

Errr, nope. Motors have been empty for every winter for the past 7 years. Just drain what little is left in the bottom, fill them up, spin on a new HP6 filter, fire the pre-lubers and turn the key. Just the way I like it

Had a long emial thread with panther this afternoon on the subject, the only reason he could come up with is rust in the pan. Well the pan is well coated with oil, as is everything else. 14 qts sitting in the pain isn't going to stop condensation and any water is going to the bottom anyway.

For years I ran RedLine Race oil, no detergents. Everyone said I was crazy. With 20 hour changes it worked fine. I have a lot of WOT time on the motors. As Panther pointed out I need to run hard to keep up. I am not afraid to keep the throttle pinned. We ran the entire NYC poker run one year WFO, same motors are still running strong. When Billy had your boat I ran Belmar to SH WFO, been doing it since he had the 45 Sonic. 5400 is the sweet spot Pulled the upper end last year to change the springs, there isn't a sign of rust anywhere.
I generally fog the motors if they will sit for more than a week. Panther said your going to foul plugs Never been a problem either.

Besides I don't what to have to change the oil in the spring again to summer oil.....about the same time I change the air in the tires to summer air

Thought I was going to be able to post tonight that I cut the cover........but it didn't happen. Just too damn cold to be thinking about the boat. Hopefully it will be a nice weekend and I'll hear someone run, that would get me wanting to cut it.

Need to get a few people to come over and piss off the neighbors again, let'em know summer is here
