Anyway, the boat landed and made this god awful sound. Mr. V's son fell to the ground and hurt himself and busted the back out of his bolster. The Apache kept cruising along, we barely felt the wave.

After that I saw all I had to see so I left Mr. V. out there with his bruised son and broken boat and went back home for a cocktail!
You have quite an imagination, how about some truth.
We ran away from you in the rip when it got snotty, after getting around the hook and about a mile down the beach we stopped. I went down in the cabin to grab the camera, had to unpack it first, took a leak and then took the following attached shot of you. You ran past us, I went back in the cabin, put the camera away, got on it and caught back up to you. It was when we slowed down to your Apache speed that we lost the timing and took the hit.
Didn't break the back out of the bolster, just took the padding off. Kid wasn't hurt, just was looking for a little sympathy. Watch him around your wife, he knows with the pink boat she'll be an easly steal Then you said you were going back for "lunch" turned tail and ran back in. Yea, I need to run in for lunch after a 10 minute ride too We ran over to Coney Island that afternoon while you were tied to the dock at Wind and Sea. Hmm, need to see if I have a pic of that too.

Just so you have the facts straight. Looks like I am always going to need my camera.

Here's the view when Panther is runnng "along side" you. Just so there is no confusion.

The great lakes can do the same thing, the only other place I've been that can also get like that is Corpus Christie Texas It just beats the crap out of you.
Although a good east wind can make Long Island sound just plain suck.

As for inlets, ran into Jones Beach one afternoon, the ocean was Panther flat yet there were 14's in the inlet.
Mr. V, you forgot this one....

I just watched that vid..congrats on the win

But racing and pleasure boating are two different things. In that Corpus Christie type water you can snap a boat in half if you land wrong at those speeds. The way I see it with pleasure boating you always have the option of slowing down, the goal is to have fun and try not to break your boat so you can enjoy it the next day. But it's a good feeling to have the confidence to make it home when the water/weather turns bad.

PS: Great video....Are you done racing or will you be coming out of retirement anytime soon?

Deffensive aren't we? You have your morning coffee yet?

What time should I come over with the boat tonight?

I'll bring the free gallon of drive oil and the 11 Qts. of synthetic oil!

Casino, I doubt it... He just hasn't been the same since that blow to the side of the head in the roll over. Damn shame, he had a good thing going!

Its really the difference between big water and snot. Raritan/SandyHook bay has some of the toughest snot I have ever experienced. Corpus is pretty much the same way. It's not the same as big ocean running. Corpus isn't going to snap a boat, more like getting beat up by Sugar Ray, while big ocean like Daytona or even the Jersey Shore is like getting beat up by Mike Tyson. Sometimes getting on top and running faster is a much better ride than trying to slow down.

If you're not going to run it rougher water then you might as well buy an Apache and stay in the river with Panther

Personally I love the snot, it's the only time you'll see a big smile on my face while I'm in the boat. There is no feeling in the world when you're airing it out.

Not defensive at all buddy, just want to make sure we have the facts straight.

I'm home all day, just need to slide the boat off the lift. Dee is stuck on the train Spoke with her this am, not happy camper. Give here a call, see if it reached 100 in the train yet. Looks like they are going to be stuck for a while.

Oil, does that mean I need to carry the Optimas from the house to the boat now???? Well at least they are charged.

Mr. V, I have to admit it sucked that day around the hook. When you guys took off my wife said to me, "Look at him, you're not going to do that. Please don't do that." as I knudged the throttle forward a little. She started freaking out! As I say; "My rev. limiter started kicking in."

Next time I'll leave her home so we can play a little longer.

My wife left late and was stuck on the train I was able to grab her at Matawan, only the diesels are running. Something about a power outage (East Coast). It would suck to be stuck in the Tunnel between NY and NJ.

The water around the hook that day is the stuff I dream of. I wouldn't want to boat it in all the time but damn it is fun and the chip just eats that water up. The kid and I had huge smiles on our faces ripping through it. Just the thought of it and I'm off my butt to go carry the batteries out to the boat. Oh yea!!!!
