Got to see the CG in action this morning, we had just gotten around the tip of the hook and the ferry stops. Captian comes on the intercom and says "Rich the engineer to the wheel house." He repeats that a few times, then comes on and says "We have a situation on the boat, we need to goto Sandy Hook." As we approach the dock he comes back on and says "We have a code red on the boat, everyone calmly move to the bow and exit the boat imediately." Appearently someone called in a bomb threat. We sat there for a hour waiting for another boat. The CG, whose station is right next door, jumped into action searching the boat. The federal park rangers along with the Sea Bright and Highlands FD also boarded to search.

Anyway, I saw all the crap yesterday. I think with last weeks rain combined with this.. is the reason why;
...HIGHER THAN NORMAL ASTRONOMICAL TIDES WILL AGAIN PRODUCE POCKETS OF MINOR TIDAL FLOODING THIS EVENING ALONG THE OCEAN FRONT AND IN DELAWARE AND CHESAPEAKE BAYS...
THE FULL PERIGEAN MOON OCCURRED ON THURSDAY, AND PRODUCED WATER LEVELS JUST OVER 7 FEET MEAN LOWER LOW WATER (MLLW) NEAR CAPE MAY AND JUST BELOW 7 FEET MLTH THE MOON A LITTLE CLOSER TO THE EARTH THE GRAVITATION EFFECT IS ALSO GREATER. THIS IS INCREASED EVEN FURTHER AS THE PERIGEE NEARLY COINCIDES WITH THE FULL MOON. AS A RESULT, THE TIDAL DEPARTURES ARE HIGHER THAN AT OTHER TIMES DURING THE LUNAR CYCLE THROUGHOUT THE YEAR.
WATER LEVELS ON LARGER RIVERS, AND BAYS WILL ALSO BE HIGHER THAN NORMAL, BUT NO FLOODING IS EXPECTED.
PERSONS ARE ADVISED NOT TO PARK THEIR VEHICLES IN LOCATIONS THAT ARE PRONE TO MINOR TIDAL FLOODING AND DO NOT TAKE ROADS THAT ARE PRONE TO MINOR TIDAL FLOODING DURING THE TIMES OF THE EVENING HIGH TIDE. PLEASE DO NOT DRIVE ON ROADS THAT HAVE BEEN BARRICADED. ...

If I had to take a hit I would rather be on the boat then on a train stuck in a tunnel somewhere. If I survive the blast the survival rate would be much better floating around the bay then in a tunnel choking on fumes. I wonder if I could get Panther to come out of the river and pick us up.
