Tomorrows forecast calls for "swells" 3-5ft, and 5-10kt winds, I love those conditions in comparison to snotty/choppy seas.

What channel do you keep your VHF on?

"We still have dock space for you when ever you want to stop by."

Thank you--hopefully before this summer ends. I still don't know the river very well, as a matter of fact, got lost in the car today-(bridge was out) stopped to look at a house, took a pic of a river and had no idea if it was the Shrewsbury or Navesink. I'll learn it before the Summer is over.
Those pics are the Navesink, Panther knows those waters well. Although once in a while he does fill the motors with sand

What's a VHF?

How big is the boat, there are a few free launches in the river, we launch a friend's 40' Huslter in Long Branch. Can launch up to 30' at the end of West St in Monmouth Beach, the street just ends in a ramp. Only problem is there is no parking.

I love the snot, more the better. Only problem is I can't get Panther to come out and play on those days.

You can always drop your wife off and she can spend the day at the pool when you go out to run. Launch in LB and drop her off on the way out.

Whats a VHF?
A VHF is the device I use to call these guys, when I'm in trouble. I'll keep it on the boat until someone buys me a Breitling.

The Boat is a 25.

Well, Ole Riv had me take Exit 105 go alllllll the way to Ocean Ave. (you know, the one lane street along the ocean there) then head north, thru bunches and bunches of lights, yahoo bennie traffic, thru a couple towns, and eventually leading to the Highland Bridge (Sandy Hook), then head over the brige ((backtracking! westbound 5 -10 miles)) to Atlantic Highlands Ramp ... Where is it??? I didn't know!!??! I had to pull over and ask someone what street to turn down (First Ave. or something) and finally rolled up on the facility and still had no clue where the ramp was until I flagged down some Park Ranger dude who pointed me in the right direction But I still made it there at 10am sharp to launch that day. I thought you were supposed to be there CR?

You'd think with the experience he has on the River he'd be able to get me there the fastest, easiest, and most direct way???!! I guess I'll run the ocean next time, won't dare ask Panther for directions via the OCEAN! LOL

I know, I did my best to make it (I wont bother with excuses)but ended up going on a friends boat instead. I thought I made a public apology to you. Well here I go --Sorry. Come down to AC by boat or car this Saturday, Ill buy the drinks at trumps.
I did see you pull out of the Highlands-but I wasn't driving so I wasn't able to catch up.

Oh and as far as the directions, thats the best way to go with a trailer (if your coming from the South). If you get off at another exit you may end up in tight spots with the trailer in tow.

Sorry about the directions. Unfortunately there really is no easy way to get there from the south. It's either 105 through Long Branch & Sea Bright, or exit 117 and down Route 36 (which is an additional 30 min+ ride. I'm glad you made it in time! The fastest way there is via the ocean. It took us 35 mins from Atl High to Point.

I doubt I'll be down for the Ortley race. It just sucks that it got moved from Point! Damn Jenks and the towns people! I was originally planning on taking a half day and heading down. But the ride to Sea Side on a Friday just doesn't seem worth it (could take 3 hrs for an hour race.) I am gonna have to wait until the NY race this year.

Still no word on the NY PR video yet. As soon as I hear, I'll let you know!

3 hrs by land if I'd hit traffic.
I know you're busting............As far as leaving Panther behind, that happened last weekend!
Unfortunately my man cannot get off of work! I can't leave in behind, unless I drive the boat and keep on going!
We'll be down around Point all weekend next weekend (day & nite) I'm not sure of the final plans yet, but maybe we'll try to meet up on land.
