You're lucky the tie bar didn't hit the props. That happened to a friends speedmaster boat. It was painful looking at the bill for new props.

Those tie rod ends are prone to failure, see if you can get some stronger ones. As soon as there is any slop they should be replaced.

Good to hear it's an easy fix!

Glad no prop causualties

Any links/suggestions to stronger bar? I hopefully can use existing pins and housings on the drives and only replace the bar and clevis/tie rod ends!?! I just purchased a replacement stainless steel tie rod end from local speed shop. Waiting on delivery ...

Change those crappy ends to Clevis ends and you'll never have that problem again. I used to go through a set of those ends every season before I swapped.

Marine machine has them, give Bing a call.
