jwheels, it looks like we are set to stay at Key Harbor for at least the first night. Can you give me some direction on how to get to Tices shoals and what cautions to look out for? Sounds like a good place to hang out for the day.

Thanks for your help,
JB

JB. Key Harbor is nice and Tice's def a great place to spend the day! From Key Harbor, Tice's Shoal is just a little north, bout 4-5mi and then about 2-3mi across the bay. You will be on the northern side of the Barnegat Lighthouse Inlet, right up on shoreline of Island Beach State Park. From marina (on west side of Barnegat Bay) just head up the ICW to Forked River bouy and then head east. The water is clear all the way across from that point. On a clear day you CAN'T miss it.

Forked River, as mentioned, has few good spots too, only a couple miles from Key Harbor, on same side of bay. Southwinds, Capt's Inn 2 good spots to hang for couple cold ones.

What day you plan on hitting Tices? I'll be there this weekend gimme a call 732.300.5222 Chris 35' Cigarette

Hey Chris,

Thanks for the info and your no#

We plan to arrive at Key Harbor sometime around noon/1:00, we will be looking to hang out with you at tices shoal later Sat afternoon. I will give you a ring once we are close to tices shoal.

We are thinking about taking a run down to Trump Marina on Sunday to hang out, is it worth doing? I am not into the gambling thing but would like to hang out on the deck and take in the sights while sucking down some suds.

Weather is supposed to be great this weekend.

Hey JB,

we will be out on Sunday probally Tices Shoals or Southwinds, AC is a bit of a trip if you go inside , water can be very shallow and if the west wind is in , green flys will kill you cause of no wake zones, I will be around Sat and Sun , would be great to meet new people , so give me a call on my cell if you want and maybe we can meet up 732-614-2900, if not have a great time,

John

with a 38 fastec you should have no problem running outside to trumps. same deal goes for ac inlet, outside marker straight in to inlet. trumps is on left side before the first bridge. running the inside past holgate can be tricky. channel in some spots can be narrow and tight... mark

Looks like we might have 3-4 boats running to AC on Sunday from the LBI Bridge

Oh yeah JB Trumps is def worth the ride, and I don't gamble either but run it on the outside for sure. About 1hr or less run from Barnegat Light down to AC inlet. Just watch around the Holgate Inlet for breakers, rounding the southern tip of LBI. Stay outside of those and then it's straight run to the casinos. Gotta work on Sunday or I'd consider running with you guys, Joe D does it all the time. Run with those guys and you'll be just fine ... either inside or out.

Talk to you more on Saturday, weather permitting.

I just finished changing oil & filters tonight, I wish I could leave Friday, the weather is supposed to be perfect all day.

I am really getting pumped up for this trip, had a new bimini top and full enclosure completed, and the weather is supposed to be very good through Tue. This will be the first boat trip my wife & I take solo without the kids, kind a wish I had them with us, but it was planned as a no kid trip.

Thanks to all of you for the info, it is a big help and I will reach out to both NJ & Jwheels hopefully sometime Sat when we arrive close to tices shoals.
