Sadly Kevin I have not done hardly anything with it, just started cleaning greasy hand prints off the white vinyl and that's it. I'm working flat out for a couple more weeks.

I need to finish cleaning it up, there's a lot of work to be done in that regard. The windshield / windscreen is broken in half right in the center. I need to either temporarily repair it or make a new one before running the boat again... it's dangerous as is.

I still need to do something about the trailer, either retrofit disc brakes or get another trailer better suited for salt water usage. At this point I think I'm just going to convert the brakes for this season and then sell it and buy another built to my specs for next year.

Lastly, I still need to get the registration garbage taken care of...

Of course Jeff is welcome on the boat. ;)

Hoping to have the boat out for the weekend of 5/21. By then I should be slowing down a little on the work end and the temps will be getting nice. :)

Really looking forward to getting it out on the water. Gotta say I am a little nervous about the handling around the docks with the staggard drives as I'm use to a smaller cat with a wider beam, so it will be a new world for me in that regard! :D

It's not bad, I have 0 issues with my 42'. Just don't let the wind catch it...plan ahead take it slow, never been an issue for me.

The reason most people have problems is they can't maneuver as it is....twin screw is easy...it's when you have to back the boat down etc it becomes a *****...

and of course as long as you don't stall... that's always fun ;)

I assumed backing it would be a real treat...

My cat was turning in, but the engines were 6' apart so it had lots of leverage! :D

Around the docks you will see a difference but it's slight, to be honest, you have to really pay attention to it to notice...

You'll be fine.

You're going to love the #6s...they pivot the entire boat on them, you feel glued to the water...esp with that deep pickup in the rough..

The rooster tail is the only way the Sutphens can see you because you're so far ahead ;)

As for Kev and whos faster. I really dont have that answer but our MPH to HP ratio is sure alot different since I have 600 and he has 1300 and were about 1 MPH apart one way or the other. So I WIN wither way IMO.

I could always put another 300 on and still be way behind on HP and be 15 MPH faster.:evilb::kiss:

BTW my OB;s turn in as well, and they are very close together. Havent really noticed any bigger issues than my other OB boat which turned out.

MPH to HP is different for sure...But weight to HP ratio brings the two boats back to being very similar, yours is light weight with light power, my boat weighs twice what your boat weighs and has twice the power....so, in the end, they are similar. A few MPH difference IMO.

Add another 300X?? Yea, for 15K more. I believe you already have more money in your boat than I do and its 10 feet smaller...and slower :) Plus drivability and balance of your boat would be way off. Your nose is already too light( and brown with Sutphen poop :)).

You win either way? Dollar for dollar, 31 ft or 40 ft, high 70's or low 80's.....I dont see how you win in ANY way?:kiss:

no they are siezed. i used about 3 tons of force on them and still wouldnt budge. so i ordered some new ones. we had this issue last year. we always leave our drives in the trailer up position. the problem with that is two fold:

1. it streches your bellows
2. it dries out the seals in the ram

this should solve our problem. the funny thing is that both rams are siezed.

i disagree there is plenty to talk about regarding club related issues, events, co-ordination, etc.

and its not just having fun, some people piss other people off (i.e. jeff's comments on pat). just not needed. i am 25 and know better.

I never keep mine in the upright position.....always down....to take the "load" off. Live and learn!

Never keep your drives in the upright and locked position, the captain requests you put them down to take the load off, thank you and enjoy your flight..
