No, not fully. I've been feeling so sh!tty I haven't been able to do so. Probably next weekend as today is really the first day in a week I've actually started feeling a better.

How did you make out with the storm Frank? Any word from Kev?

Im here Scot, as of noon today generator is running. No power at work/or home so rushing around to get work up and running again. Cell service also sucks! Must be some cell tower damage. CT weather really sucks!

WildThing47 10-31-2011 05:10 PM

This has been the busiest day of my year with the exception of Irene...

I've got 2 gensets on their way up from Jersey on Semis w/ 2 fuel trucks meeting at 9pm another 4 on their way tonight...

This is pathetic the grid is this much of a mess...

Disaster recovery is in full effect, this is why I tell people...be prepared...especially businesses.... :coolcowboy:

Now everyone feels how bad we got it when we were out of power for a week on the Shore...

P.S. if anyone needs to absolutely get running. I have 250kw-1 meg units available for businesses that need rentals in cue, it's not cheap but it will get you up inside of 6hrs..Let me know!

innerrage 10-31-2011 08:02 PM

also i have a 20 inch and 28 inch stihl saws with chipper chains,so if any one has trees down or need help ,let me no just pay for gas for saw and coffee ,thats it.

It is a mess in my town we lost power on Saturday and still don't have it back yet, we got quite a bit of heavy wet snow. But the good news is my sled is getting put together!

I drove up through CT and into MA early this morning. Really strange not seeing any lights through most of the drive... something eerie about it actually, especially on the highways.

Hope you guys get power back soon, shltty time of the year to be in the dark and w/o heat!

302Sport 11-01-2011 10:43 PM

Still no power since sat.....

kreed 11-02-2011 06:23 AM

Got our power in East Hampton yesterday! Wow it sucks w/o it. Still no power at business in Middletown though....

1MOSES1 11-02-2011 08:42 AM

we still have no power. lost it on saturday 7pm. no heat, no water, no cable, no telephone, no cell phone service, and no internet. its been horrible.

i hope people are starting to winterize. i think it dipped below freezing yesterday. i wouldnt be concerned about drive oil or motor oil yet but at least the water systems (motor and accesories).

i went down to hayes haven last night to drain both and replace with antifreeze. will do drives and motor oils this weekend.

scarab63 11-02-2011 09:57 AM

Prob would have been helpful earlier in the week, but if powers not expected any time soon. Come grab my gen. Will run a light , space heater, and cell charger . Its a hike, but the offers there for anyone

WildThing47 11-02-2011 10:30 AM

Justin it has to be in the mid twenties for about three nights in a row before you have to start worrying about a block freezing. There are obv other variables but that's a rule of thumb

"winterize meeee"

"winterize meeee"

"winterize meeee"

"*****, shut up, it's going to be 60 tomorrow, I CAN STILL USE YOU..."

The voices in your head dictate when to close her up....she's like a nagging wife...:lolhit:

20* 3 days will freeze your blocks....you're still ok...

1MOSES1 11-02-2011 07:22 PM

where is the data that supports 3 days at 20 degrees? haha. I rather be safe than sorry, no offense.

Or you can just keep it in its own heated building and not worry about it

SS930 11-03-2011 06:08 AM

I would never just rely on a heated building... Every fire has to go out sometime!

i.e. Irene and this past weekends storm...there is no way I would rely on heated storage.

WildThing47 11-03-2011 09:41 AM

Jesus justin, do you really have to disclaim everything that's said...it's honestly *ucking annoying...

The logic is, a mild freeze of 30-32 will take longer to deep chill the blocks to a lower temp...mainly because during the day they will heat back up.

A deep freeze of 20* will lower the temp completely to the center of the block freezing the fluid and they won't heat back up when the air is warmer, of course if it's a deep freeze the day temp probably won't be rising much above freezing anyhow......that's my logic..

Solution: quit whining and putting it off and get it done...don't let it sit...

P.S. data that supports my theory, leave your blocks un-winterized outside in 20* weather for 3 days..

I strongly disagree. I actually had something very scholarly drafted and decided against it.

a horse is a horse of course of course unless he's mr ed....:coolcowboy:

who cares what it was, how scientific do you have to be to know, don't let your blocks freeze...lol...I could understand hydrodynamics, prop slip, valve theory, or something along those lines...but seriously....the logic behind not letting your blocks sit with water in them during a deep freeze? Cmon boys...
