MMT works to boost octane, it's a fact. The down side is manganese will azz up cats and O2 sensors, but this isn't an issue with boats (although the EPA probably wouldn't like it being used on the water).

The use of aromatics to raise octane is expensive and takes a lot more volume (10%-20%) to do the same thing. MMT isn't an aromatic, but it's an effective octane booster if you're simply looking for a little extra protection while breaking in your engines... plus it's easy to carry and add.

I didnt see the larger ones. I only say the smaller ones. But even so I can get the brackets for 30 each and just make a head mount bracket and I should be good to go.

You can raise octane with toluene too.

............or vodka.

Vodka will lower octane as most is only 40% ethanol, but straight grain alcohol will raise it! Keep in mind the stoichiometric ratio of ethyl ethanol is completely different than that of pump gas, so you might need to fatten your mixture if you plan on ruining significant portions of grain... But that might be considered alcohol abuse!
