I assure you he is not the only one that has tested without proper gear. I have been out in the canopy boat w/o being strapped or with a helmet........ I wont again!! I also know a few guys that are former world champs that have been tossed around inside canopys because they were not belted. I think the reminder is of benefit to us all.

There is no race so important, and no test that is so urgent, that we cannot take the time to test safely....
Afterall, lives are at stake, and equipment can be lost.
Equipment can be replaced. Love ones cannot!
Now all let's have a good safe season and remain ALIVE in 2005!!!

I agree with Ron and the common sense part. But most of us DO NOT HAVE IT. We believe that certain things will never happen to us. Case in point, I bet everyone that posted on this thread drives a car and has driven over the speed limit on a regular basis. But, does everyone where their seat belt. I know I don't, and have been lucky to have not been in a bad car wreck. I also know that when I've used power tools (grinder, etc.) I haven't worn googles neither. I also DO NOT where a life jacket when we running around in our boat or my bro's boat. Most people think of comfortability before safety.
Maybe the problem is that we assume it will never happen to "me", and usually a person doesn't learn until it does happen to them. The idiot is the one that doesn't learn from the mistake.
So, DON'T DO IT AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Glad all is well.
Just my 2 cents.
