Also call Matt at Throttle UP. He has spent a fair amount of time on your boat. He knows the #'s with different blades and X dimensions. That kind of knowledge can save you thousands on work that has already been tested. So is your wife ready to drive the $hit out of it?:D

It was mention on here somewhere that Mazakowski might be interested in selling his SVL. Any takers?

Oh shes ready!!! I don't think she knows what she has gotten herself into yet, but she wants to DRIVE.

She has put up with me for 4 years. I think Jenni must be bulletproof or something to my antics.

TYPHOON 02-15-2008 02:18 PM

Just spoke to Bob Mazakowski. He is not selling his boat but is selling the Way To Krazy SVL. Boat and trailer no motor or drive.:evilb:

I believe it is a 1.65. This boat can run very fast and be extremely competative!

re

when i sold the boat it had 1.50 that was put in right before michigan race. I was running it with a 1.65 before that. The biggest problem with the boat like I explaned is the center of gravity is all out of wack were the motor is you either have to move the motor or put back 1.65 in it to turn a bigger wheel .I had chaged it to a 1.50 to meet class regulations as for Matt and Julie they have spent a lot of time with the boat running deferent props and both ratios and will tell you the same thing, its not like any other phantom with the motor that low and forward. Its a good 10 to 12 inches Forward and is sitting a good 5 or 6 inches down the inside of the hull of the boat . There are alot of great pepole in this class that will help you out it is a fun class but a competive one .If you have any questions that I can help you with (941)-915-9145 Cory

Aqua Banshee 02-18-2008 09:50 AM

Yes did verify that the boat does have 1.50 gears. After talking with Throttle Up the prop I have on it is just wrong. Thank you for the help.

TYPHOON 02-18-2008 11:18 AM

Spoke to Doug Gramaldi the new owner of WHM SVL. He is going full speed on his new boat. Motor is at Merc. getting a fresh rebuid,Interior is out, trailor is getting redone and some glass work being taken care of. Now thats a lot of work before Biloxi but I believe he has the fire to get it done. :D

TYPHOON 02-18-2008 11:23 AM

Spoke to Dave the new owner of Screaming Eagle. Boat is being rerigged at Mazakowski's shop. His plan for now is to run some P class races to get some seat time and possibly later in the year run some SVL races. If any of you SVL guy's get a chance give them a call and welcome them into the family.
MD

DriverofDonzi 02-18-2008 12:33 PM

Which org new owners of WHM and Screaming Eagle will race this year?

TYPHOON 02-18-2008 03:20 PM

WHM in OSS SVL and Eagles Im not sure. Most likely SBI or OPA being they are the only ones with P class racing. I would think they will run OSS SVL after they comfortable with it. I would think they bought a spec boat to race other spec boats but that will be up to them.

Aqua Banshee 02-19-2008 08:48 AM

Well we got the boat, and I think we have a team name now.

Under Destruction. Opinions. What do we do next?

TYPHOON 02-19-2008 11:43 AM

SVL Boats are some of the best looking and most affordable race boats on the planet, period!!!

You guy have all the makings to bring the SVL Class to the front of the offshore crowd with the boats and and teams being so accessible to the fans along with speeds that most performance boaters can relate to. No reason 2008 should not be a banner year in the OSS !!

DriverofDonzi 02-20-2008 04:20 PM

I like it...then get things ready and race!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

TYPHOON 02-24-2008 06:38 PM

Rick get involved in the class and race mono-a-mono. We are all the same in spec class. Money dont mean $hit in SVL its how big your ball'$ are. And this year how big your tit'$ are.

I just bought a boat so a 3rd is not in my future.

2 Trick Rick 02-25-2008 05:05 PM

I had more to say but I was in a vicoden (sp?) buzz after my Friday surgery.

I would personally love to get a SVL 30 Phantom and run some spec class’s but until there is some stability in the offshore ranks I cant afford to spend more on a “spec” boat only to end up having to run it in a “P” Class.

The more boats the more stability. A spec boat makes more sense. You race a spec boat in a P class, but you can't race a P-class boat in a spec class most of the time. 2 days of racing at some locations. Not that I really know what im talking about but were going to give it all we can our first year.

Sounds to me like you know what you are talking about, unless you build motors for a living you can't beat spec racing, Mercury support, Mercury money and equipment that last. A good class is stability! unless Randy is in it!???

Update from the WHM (Old name) Team:

Motor should be back from Merc by the middle of next week and installed the day after. I will be throttling the boat with Doug and look forward to meeting alot lf you fellow racers!

The boat is going to the paint shop this week...so we should be ready to rig this thing by the end of next week. Doesn't leave us much time to test?!? May have to head to NJ to find some water (not like the ice we have here).

Man, I love the time frame..We have to be on the road by when to make Biloxi?

Dave

TYPHOON 02-26-2008 06:26 PM

Dave great to hear from you. Any pics of the boat as you go along? Get used to the tight time frame's. It seems we are always wrenching away the night before we leave every time. George from Popeys mentioned he had a prop that worked really well on that boat that he wants to sell. Most of us have props you can barrow at Biloxi to test with on Sat. If you want to test here in NJ just give me some dates and we will drop it in and test all you want. If you want you can leave the boat here and come back on the weekends to test. Just ask and you will receive from this class.

Does any one talk to Simply doesnt Show Up. AKA Simply Awsome. What's his problem? Muller said he would love to throttle his boat against us little itty bitty SVL boats at Biloxi. I think he needs some love from all the SVL guys. Bruce here is my love :grinser010::grinser010::grinser010:. Im pretty sure you all need to send him some love to inspire him to show.

If we can help you along with your SVL venture. We have travel lifts and forklifts available to you any time no charge, if you need to test in Jersey. Just go kick Randy's a@@. Smitty

axapowell 02-27-2008 08:43 AM

Thanks guys for all of the support! I'm sure we will take you up on your offers!

We think we might attend a few of the OPA races this year as well. Last year we raced at Cambridge with Team Reindl and also the Worlds in Destin. This looks like it's going to be quite an adventure!
