Who knew Mike Pappa?

This thread is amazing. I am so glad to see eveyone try to help someone understand someone they lost and barely knew.
I truly think this is great thread, and maybe there is something to learn. We have lost MANY great men to this sport we love. They have families and we should let them know about each and every one. I know Jack Storelle(sp?) and Randy L had kids, lets not wait 20 years to let them know how we feel about these great men.
Just my .02, take it for what it's worth.

Please call Steve Miklos, he thinks he has an
interview on tape of your father. Also, he
may have seen the Velocity in '97.

Thank you for the number, i'll call him this evening!
My older sister is now 26, was 6 when Dad was in the accident. i'm 24 and my younger brother is 21. This November will be the 20 yr anniversary of his death.
I showed this website to my family this weekend and everyone was amazed at how many people have written about Dad. Dad's brother, Ben, and also the person who raised me, read this thread and was so amazed because he remembers a lot of the people that wrote on here from when he used to race with Dad. He brought down a lot of pictures from the attic to show us and also put a few emails out for us as well.

As I messaged earlier, I spoke to Steve Stepp today and he had nothing but kind words to say about your Father. He had the utmost respect for him as a racer, and liked him very much as a person. There are some great old photos of your Dad and the Velocity he raced, and you're welcome to copies of any. We would be glad to have any of your family stop by anytime.

Some good information for all of you...although you may already know it... I got an email from John Carbonell...he raced in the 1985 race. He said that Stan Fitts with APBA is putting together a museum of past racers. I'm not sure where it will be or when it will be open but i'll post more information when I get it!
