Can you post some pics? what are the specs?

My membership just expired and I have not renewed it yet. so no pics today. The boat is made from the hull mold that Aronow sold to McCarthy back in the 70s. So it is a 24 cig hull with an 8 foot beam and flat deck.

I think 24 is to short and a 8' beam to wide.

Randy is on the money, we used to have one of them and they are a blast to drive, but for racing I don't know. 1 lap in some fairly choppy water and your talking back surgery. What about Superboat , Progression Boats or Kryptonite Boats?, they build some race proven boats that are all fairly competitive with each other with equal power. Louie

Rookie question but can a single o/b compete in class 6 on a competitive level?
|
No. It would not have enough acceleration

Is spec racing the answer for "affordable entry racing"? What about a sub class in 6 for outboard boats. Weather you have a superboat pantera kryptonite Banana or whatever. If this catches on let them have there own class in the future or restructure the existing classes so an sob can compete.

Affordable entry level:
Length overall 21ft/ 6.4m Beam overall 7ft/ 2.1m Target weight 2315lb/1050kg Tank capacity 26.4 gallons/120 litres Construction Vacum Glass reinforced Cost, 30K New with a 150 Honda 4-Stroke engine with a top Speed in the 50mph ranges. Quick theory why this would be a great "starter" race boat. Is it small? Yes, but this class would be geared toward the "younger" generation. In Europe the allow 16 Years and older to compete. I know it may be a rough ride for a 45yr old man, but targeting an older market with “more money” may not be wise. Speed: Slow, but how fast do you really want to go in an entry level spec class boat that’s 21ft long, 50 plenty fast, maybe even cut the courses in half for theses small boats so the excitement and carnage is all in front of the fans. Weight: LIGHT, and easy to tow, no large storage areas needed to rent also. Just stuff it in a garage or driveway. Cost: Less than a SUV at 30K new. Let the class start small, if it grows than build up to the 26ft boats like Steve did in Europe. |
