Port Clinton Race

I agree. I hate to be a party pooper but it would be crazy w/o the race that weekend. The cops over there are bad enough as it is, its going to be a feeding frenzy for them that weekend, think I'll stay over in the western basin.

Here in NJ were have been having a really good relationship with most sailing orgs in the past few years.
It is so much better when you can actually sit and discuss with them what the Racing or Poker Run needs are and keeping everyone informed. Everyone must know what is happening on the day of their events to keep everyone safe.

At the meeting she was scrambling for docks. Not sure where all the boats are going to dock. Then all the sail boats on top of it.

I have had these same disscussions with Miss Vogel. This is the weekend she wanted, and for this year we will make it work. Looking to the future, there will possibly be a date change. The sail boat race is not a problem, they have even agreed to modify their race coarse to allow more room for the Power Boats. Yes space is going to be tight. For this year how about helping us out, get this one under our belt, and we'll go from there. I would appreciate your support tremendously. Smitty

the blowboats will all be rafted off of the port clinton yacht club seawall, 4 to 7 wide. plus the jet express taking people to the islands. the start of the blowboat race won't be bad...it's the finish.

with school, my time is limited, but during that weekend I can help if liason work is needed between the powerboaters and the blow boaters. I have many friends in both circles there, and my yacht club has affiliation with pcyc thru ilya and ayc.

Is she hiring anybody? I saw three pages of volunteers needed. She said the city is going to make millions from this event.
The city or businesses should be throwing in for all this help thats needed.
Things that pushed me and another away for being volunteers is that they are trying for a minumum of 3- 8Hr days from volunteers.
Volunteer boats shoved where ever they can find a space at any marina.
I can't see a fastest boat competition taking place on Lake Erie.
Between random Jet express and boater wakes not to mention getting a nice day(for waves) on Lake Erie and to top it off its on a thursday.
Don't get me wrong I hope this event works and it comes back every year. I just think there is alot of big challenges.
