Port Clinton Race

As a promoter of the Harrison Twp Mi race, I can tell you by first hand experience how hard it is. Very few want to help but they all want to benefit.
I guess that is the way America is going anyway.

Whoya,
Let's make the best of it. Gotta get the site up, make several huge banners, and try to pull some business out of it. Basically, volunteer to make yourself some money. I think it's worth a try. I'm sure it will be crazy, but that's the best time to be there. Think about the thousands of potential customers that will be there.

As far as i know it is a go...

I think I will be doing everything I can to make this race. What a better way to expose the sport than do to it on an extremely busy weekend. I say two thumbs up.. but we'll give the final score after the race.
Is there a schedule? Or a site to get the info?

I spoke to her in the beginning offering her help with the event and she went around me to the owner of my friends resort and pissed off a couple people in the process - I don't think she has the skill to pull this off - I really wish she did and would let people help - its a huge undertaking even without Boat Week - I think she might pull the "BW" off, but not the race - My two cents I do hope she does, its right by the Resort - Maybe next year I will work on it but not "as" boat week - Also the location is not very safe, it should be on the West side of the channel - too much activity to deal with during boat week - She had a website/graphics sponsor, that all I know and so she put up a site - That's a long ways from an event but I hope it happens

I was at the last meeting for this. Shes needs alot of help.
On another website http://www.islandpirates.net/forum/s...ight=boat+week
She is bad mouthing me(Bajacleveland on other site), Saying im telling lies because Im giving my opinion on things. Such as:
the wrong weekend, Same weekend as a sailboat race out of the same river, Not enough boat docks, Thursday for fatest boat competition, Not allowing the race boats to do it.
Three pages (front and back) of volunteers needed. She talks about how this is going to bring millions into the city. Then the city needs to hire people.
Janie I would not of went to the meeting to be a volunteer if I didn't want to see this event happen.
Sounds like she's pissing off some people. Not a way to get things done.
I know someone that wanted to be a sponsor but she wanted so much free stuff he told her to forget it.

Sorry to hear that. Our event, the Harrison Twp MI race, is a go but not without the help a great many volunteers and sponsors.
With the highest unemployment rate in the country, it is brutal to raise funds. We are doing it through Cintron Energy Drinks, ads, tee shirts, parties, poker rooms, beer tents and anyother way we can.
I hope we can save all the race sites currently available and so when the economy recovers they will all be stronger. Please volunteer at your local races.
