Any 2011 OPA rule changes in the works?
Any chance of combining class 5 & 6 ?
Any chance we will see a return of class 2 ? or are we good to go for 2011 ? :party-smiley-004: *just thinking out loud |

Rich Cotnertrailers.com 611 True but I just heard people talking about it at O.c. and like I said just talking out loud.. I don't even think we (or they) can change rules for another year. I like class 6 and would like to see more boats like Akula out racing! It's a great way to get hooked on the sport without the big $$$$ and big headaches. |
Maybe, we should look at the placing and points for a break out boat/DNS boat/ Last place boat. I know Gary had some concerns.
This year we raced 7 plus the worlds. Scored in 6. Dropped worst finish. Thoughts? Smitty |
Maybe
3 Races on the 'East" Coast area 3 Races in the Michigan area (Mid-west) 1 Worlds Down south Have a East coast Champion (no money, no trophy just glory) Have a Mid-East Champion (no money, no trophy just glory) and a over all points champion. Than have a east and west shout-out for the World Title down south. ------------------------------------------------------------------ I know Gary does not agree with me on this but keep the "breaking out" as a capital offense. Bracket racing is all about set up, driving and throttle control .. just leave it as a capital offense -------------------------------------------------------------------- Each pit area is required to have a Bikini beach blonde. This blonde would be used for public relations ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Start money instead of purse until the economy turns around -------------------------------------------------------------------- Return class 2, TKO and Bull on the beach look like lumbering giants in #3. The OB cats don't really stand a chance against those two. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Each boat must run a Michigan Mafia sticker ----------------------------------------------------------------------- |

I like Rick's Blonde Bikini rule!:drink:
Don't like Rick's Mafia sticker rule. How about class 5 and 6 start together, and run the same laps. This allows the fastest class 6 boats to race the slower class 5 boats. This would put all the single engine V's running together-kind of like the old days with Production , Modified and Sport running the same laps and racing each other-but being scored as seperate classes. Just a thought. |

I think if you dont finish you out its not fair to the guy that races his butt off but brakes out but is there at the end. if we keep this rule the way it is you might as well do 1 lap pull in the in field say you have a problem and wait for the other racers to brake out. thats not racing.:lolhit:

I really like the BIKINI BLONDE rule, anyone know where I can get me one!!! :hitit:
I also like the start money thing till things get better, I bet that will help get teams to the races next year. |

. At most races people Don't break out. If you have 5 boats do one lap and pull in odds are you will finish 5th. It's a gray area that will require a complex mathematical solution that no one from Jersey would understand. :evilb: Just leave it. :lolhit: |
And the Blonde in a bikini rule seems to be gaining speed !!!

I don't think the class 5 guys want us in their way on starts, I for sure don't want to contend with them when I'm racing against the class 6 guys. Class 5 is the largest class already, why change anything? |

I disagree. The fastest class 6 boat can only go 70 MPH.

I liked the "no rule changes rule" from a while back. Been tryin to get my junk out there for a few years now but... Mark i was thinkin there should be a twin engine class 5....maybe up to 35ft, there is alot of twn engine boats out there with stock power that would be competitive. Not trying to single out the twin engine boats currently running class 5, because i do like the higher boat count.....but....i feel they do have an advantage at most race sites.....any thoughts from other class 5 guys?? Boats been for sale on and off for a while now. small market for the older race boats. Mark Poker originally set it up as the interstate boat. This boats extremly solid too! hull is in amazing shape! I figured it would be perfect to build for class 6 so i couldnt pass it up.
