You guys have a 100+ MPH boat. Why you dont think you can compete in class 3, is hard to understand. TKO was a class 2 boat. No one denies that. Im not really sure what the bull can run, but maybe they belong in 2 as well. That leaves you guys. Will you run all alone in 3? If Chiro one bumped up, would it be unfair for you too? Its pretty embarassing that you guys would even consider running in a 85 MPH class, knowing you can easily do 100 - 105. You guys are a legal class 3 or even 2 boat. Stay where you belong and take care of your own house. Dont come ruin ours, it already has issues.

Rick, Class5, a little self serving huh?
Speaking for our class(twins)that is proposed, Simmons is talking retirement(also says boat is not capable of 90), Dont really know what the status of Chiro is so lets say they are coming back(also says boat is not capable of 90), Jersey Outlaw will do a race here and there, ok Formula is in as well. So now you go from 3-8 boats in every race down to 1-2(on a good day 3) in a "new class". yawn, been there done that, over it....
My thoughts are to bring back class 2 and leave the rest alone, then have class meetings in St Clair about possible changes for 2012 which then each class rep can bring them to Smitty and he and the board can go from there. Not have ongoing discussions on any offshore forum.
As far as the twin vs. single battle, I have been on both sides and knock on wood was able to to "build a boat for the class" and now everyone wants to cry about it. It always goes back to us as racers are our own worst enemy.
Safety is my only concern about moving up to 90. I mean hell Dev and i proved that if you get cut off, she'll buck ya in a heartbeat attempting to make an evasive move @ 81.4 mph.
Johnny, I respect what you are saying and you have some very valid points, however, you have to remember that when your boat had a 500EFI it ran 80-82 mph all day long and back in the day competed against "The Flying Condo" and sometimes even beat him. I dont know the exact specs on your current motor, but it certainly looks like it has a lot more ponies than 520-525HP. So in theory, it should easily be capable of mid to high 80's. I also realize that back in the day I was getting gas for .77 a gallon so obviously 2011 is a lot different than 2001-4.
Smitty my thoughts are above, I do request that if changes are to be made they be made yesterday so us florida guys can get out and test test test all winter and be prepared for next season.

Trent, only talking here. Class 3 is weak. Once was a strong class. Just looking to see if we are missing something.
Bill P. I have a set of Whipples. Yikes..............Too scared to put them in the Beak boat. Or leave it alone. Jr. has decided it is time to go Topless. We will be out to put a championship on the Viper. Once dominated class 3. Out for a little Bull and Walter.

Well this has certainly spread quickly to more than Class 3!! All good though!!
Being lucky to have run in Class 6 (Locked Up), I say no changes there!! It's an introductory class for people to get into this sport with little money--compared to the higher classes!! Above all, Class 6 needs to stay consistent, safe and budget in mind. It could be the most important class we have!!
Class 5 rocks and should be left alone!!
Class 4...We built the Jersey Outlaw to fit this class. Our motors are perfect and we knew our drives were weak, which became our downfall for 2010! We have the winter to strengthen them, so lookout Trent!! Now as far as any changes to 4, we can race our boat at 90, but that will put all our boats under extra stress and break sooner so do we want that? 85 is a good speed, and from what I saw, boats stayed together, other than known weaknesses. Boat type is a big question!! Twins, singles, size...it all matters and don't let any chicks(or dudes) tell ya different!!!! Hahaha Personally, I love the Chiro crew, but I think their boat is too big for 4. They have the clear advantage in rough water, but there are no specific rules to keep them, or anyone else out, so they are in. Unless the Class 4 guys want to get together and discuss rule changes/additions/subtractions, then we move on to 2011 season!! Us Garvey guys have way bigger balls than the Chiro and Formula crews too!!!! ****, I hope we get our boat reliable enough to finish!!! Screw the checkered flag, we are in it for the chicks!!!
Class 3, is a great class but I think Class 2 should come back so the boats get into the class they are competitive with, and not in a lower class where they dominate!
Class 1, not to be left out, but left alone!! All good!!
Keep the comments rolling!! We will have 2011 rules squared away before we know it!!
