I personally think class 6 should go, that's a good class but it's unnecessary and with its removal class 5 will grow bigger & better.
I think having a 70 and 75mph class is kind of the same thing. |

I disagree, class 6 is the perfect entry level class, and there both working. And if they were combined, thatd be from 15-22 boatsin class 5. Im all for competition but at what point does it become a little extreme? If it aint broke dont fix it, class 5 and 6 are fantastic. Is anyone in either class not thrilled with there experience this year? And i dont mean personal differences off the course, I mean with the way the class was run.

Both classes work, its just two of the same thing (or very, very close)

What exactly is the point of messing with the two most popular classes in OPA? (5 and 6)

It wasnt meant to be takin like that, Im not into trash talking. But c'mon, If you combined all the class 6 boats with most of the class 5 boats would it be a fair race even at 70? No.
If they build an over kill boat, move them up or it just kills the class. |

Didn't a 26 Corsa race OPA class 4? How did that 26 Joker do?
No one boat is perfect for every water or condition, but that's racing. |

This contradicts your previous post regarding the 32 Skaters. If a boat runs above the class speed by 5 mph in PREFECT CONDITIONS it should be moved up. A 32 Skater with 750s runs above 105 as does a 38 Vee with 950s or a 29 with 800hp runs over 75mph.
If they build an over kill boat, move them up or it just kills the class. My comment about the skater is more about safety than anything else. A classic 32 skater has to be run extremely hard to keep up with a 36 Skater, 37 talon etc. When we ran Stylin in Class 1 ( a full race 36 spectre) relentless (32 skater) was competitive until the real rough days, where it had to be run on the ragged edge. It was not with the 40 motion that ran. |
