Jeff- I agree-you'll be fine! You beat me in both Port Huron and Solomons. This was the first year I've had "competative power"-and all its done is gotten me to break out.
This is why I'd be in favor of "de-tuning" to about 500 HP, or what ever the class agrees on. Plus the engine will live longer!
I still can't wait for next year, and hope the class 6 continues to grow!

Had a 21' Intimidator run with us I think 2 years ago in class 6. Not competitive but got race experience. Nothing keeping anyone from doing it now.

I am in the correct bracket. My boat goes 75 MPH in race trim. Does it get there like a mofo? Yes. But 75 and im out of rpm. I dont know who you are, or what your beef is, but I would welcome you to race against us all in Class 5, its a VERY competitive class. Oh, and my boat loves rough water.

Don't get your undies in a bunch !! There is no "BEEF". And I bet you do Know who I am. I only used your boat length comment as a quote. Cook is saying the same thing can't hang with the long boats?? And I don't believe class 5 is as skewed as class 6. Class 5 is definitely the best bet for most as it has lots of boats. When I get out there again I am really building a class 6 boat the only way I will end up in 5 is if I ended up getting something else bought and it's length was too long for 6. I am sure Smitty and crew will make a change or two to keep things on track. I would love to be back in class 4 running at that speed but just can't afford to do much.

but please help me out with my confusion. In 2003, your exact boat ran in the 80 mph avg speed class(OPA) and it only had a stock sealed 500EFI. Now it has a 650-700 hp power plant and your running out of RPM's at 75 mph???? I'm not the sharpest tack in the desk drawer, but this makes entirely no sense to me. Please explain
