In reality we don't get that many newby's. We could however have a rookie of the year program for new teams that race as incentive to come out race.

Just my opinion, mind you,

What ever happened to "Driver of the year" and "Throttleman of the year" awards that use to be in APBA and like Orgs?? Did OPA ever have that??? And how were these awards picked from each class???

1: At no point was Smitty talking about changing "any" of the Bracket classes.
After re-reading post #1, suggestions were made...

With the formula being 8.76 for single engines, can I run my 26' in your spec ballz out class? Figuring between your motors, you would have to run 5300 lbs(600 hp) & 6100 lbs(700 hp) I really like my odds in this racing format

Based on your LOTO numbers, my little itty bittie 500 is still faster, as great a boat that Steve builds, why would I buy a slower boat?

The reason we're at the point that we're at.....

I thought the whole idea of the brackets was "to keep it affordable". Tell ya what, you guys keep busting out the checkbook and building eye rolling motors and I'll just keep spending my $60 bucks per race maintaining my motor and you guys can keep spending all that cash replacing drives and re-freshening motors every 3-4 races

You nailed this on the head, but what most every racer wants is a "chance", I dont think thats too much to ask for

Every time we go to Michigan, you guys always have the checkered flag after every race, I was under the impression you won a lot

Rick,
This isnt the world against PFE, Gary just happens to have been vocal on this thread and well, set himself up to be a target. I'm open to any and all ideas that allows fair, affordable racing. My 26' boat is in the right class with its itty bittie 500, would love for you guys to come up and join me, your team is a "Class Act" on and off the course!

Unfortunately, I do take this sport(hobby) too seriously, one of my downfalls. I see so much potential that it can be run professionally, however we cant get out of the club stage....

With our class not getting any coverage on the tv show this year, I was able to get a cameo in a music video. Enjoy, I'm the one with the box on my head:

So the answer must be "To Dyno" as you have to come up with a number what ever it may be that is the end of the class 6 warfare. If your over you go to 5.

Gary spent less building that motor than you would think. All parts were bought off CraigsList and ebay..

Every racers has a chance - Look at AKULA last yaer. He won the worlds with a worn out blower motor making a little over 500hp

Your acting like this is some super secret formula and big buck operation, we are not. Last year we spent approx $1000.00 per out of state trip for gas, food and hotels (and thats with 4 people) - Now back to the motor.. this is engine building, not rocket science. Nothing special is hidden under the hatch - Garys runs a 510ci low compression pump gas special. We don't run 7$ gallon race fuel.. we fill up were we fill up our trucks and lawn mowers.

Right now we build to acceleration that's the name of the game, Gary and I would welcome a 500 or 550hp limit in the class because I know how fast a Velocity goes with those power plants compared to other in our class but until that changes we will keep our current power package.

Or maybe we can go back to a F1 style until one manufacture makes a better hull buy a few mph and we all have to run out and spend 50k to run up front...but I think It's a lot cheaper to rebuild your 500hp to 600hp than buying new hull's ever couple years.
