class 6 rules
#51
I was at the meeting as well and it was not said. There were talks on limits and so forth to try to gain some parity and even talks of possibly making a spec class comparable to Class 6 later on in the future. Class 6 Was created as an entry level class not for engine builders to build big hp motors and put them in a 26' or under boat.

maybe not in the exact words but smitty did say the gps has served its purpose well but maybe it's time to look into other limits to bring the class back into reality. kinda says to me if the 650 limit is enlisted the gps would go. seems like we need to bring the biggest seeds cuz we def cant afford the power you guys have!

I dont mean any disrespect towards you in any shape or form but what I paraphrased from above seems to be able to be summed up with in 1 word.... "assumption"
I am nobody, most refer to me as the village idiot, but dont ever assume in offshore racing, please I beg of you, it only makes things worse than what they are. Whatever Smitty said or didnt say, thats what you need to follow and hold him to.
I heard a saying one time on Benny Hill I believe, "Dont ever assume as it makes an "a$$" out of "u" and "me"

Gps is not going anywhere for class 6 thats for sure.
What has been talked about is a 650 limit with a prop shaft dyno.
If you all remember this goes back to the old post of a outlaw class and the no gps goes back to the old post about running boats kind of like the old A boats we raced back in the the day to make a spec class of sorts no gps.
If you all remember smitty poped in on that post and taked about the outlaw class and also said GPS for class 6 stays just the way things are now.
The no gps class was only going to be a test to see how it worked out and if the teams liked it and if is somthing to move forward with.
Give it a test at a couple of race sites if enough teams wanted to try it out.
