Rick,
I believe they are shooting for 60 mph

Rick would that work? Do you think in the smaller V hulls there's no major advantage of one over the other? Well not enough at least to make it so only a few specific hulls have an advantage over the rest.

Example.: apache, super, sutphen, progression all merc optimax 225 with 21pitch props.

Would that be fair competitive non GPS racing? I'd think so.

Is there a specific small hull that has distinct advantages? I can't think of one. In a " offshore style " hull. Not talking hydros, or actions etc

MD

Yes but the boat with the biggest power will not dominate C7. The boat with the biggest power (I think they agreed on a 250 limit) will be a transom heavy last place finisher. 2.5L and as little setback as possible will win this class. Competitive boat for 5-7k

Making a class 7 rather than a SOB class is taking a step backwards. As rick mentioned, make it a spec class and let the racers go at it! Makes the class far more attractive to racers and fans alike in my opinion. Hell make it a saturday fill in race with a short course and give the fans some entertainment and allow racers to race SOB saturday and another class sunday.

There is no talk regarding a 7th bracket class. It is a sob class with a 7 prefix to distinguish from other classes.
