The OPA should put some basic guide lines out so people know what boats, power ect are ok so there is no speculating .

Simple list of oked equipment.

Because if you start speculating you might get throw under the bus for somthing you dident even do or ***** about.

Christian and Mark are putting the class together and will propose rules and specs to OPA. Anyone with relevant questions should contact them. Toasty or Waterboy1.

The current plan is a bracketed single outboard vee class to 22 or 23ft and 60mph...the idea is to attract as many potential teams as possible...and with that being said; a "spec" class would not work to start as there are many different hull and engine combinations.I think it makes sense to have the first race be all open cockpit vee bottoms...CLASS 5,CLASS 6 and CLASS 7.

The 7 designation seems like a bad idea, will just confuse things. Already tough enough for fans to sort out who's who and what's what when a race is happening. Why not SOB-## or SO-## to show that its a spec class like SS and SVL.

Either way it will be great if this happens and teams come out for it, been talks of it for years now.

I'd say its still a spec class...just that the "specs" are a bit loose! LOL max length, max power and maybe a max prop pitch to keep the speeds within reason

My 2 cents, and I think this class is great! 21-24ft ANY single production Outboard. (MAYBE a max prop pitch) but lets not make this too complicated.

I think they are keeping it 23 so a 24 Superboat or Pantera with a 300 cant dominate the class.

Brian, there arent that many small SBC boats out there, and most of them fit in Class 6. Besides that, outboards racing against smallblocks/bigblocks doesnt work. Anyone remember when they combined Pro-Stock and Modified? OPA cant make every boat competitive. Calm down my friend.

First off the class is called (single OUTBOARD) if you want to run a small block, take it to class 6.

IMO there are soooo many boats out there with 300 promax, 300x, and 300xs why would you want to limit them if we are trying to build a class? I believe you should get this class rolling for a few years and then really tighten down the specifics. I myself seriously doubt that almost any 24/300 boat will out run a 21/22 2.5 boat.....
