I never ran in OSS, but the answer to your question is the Fountain came out and finished 3rd in Biloxi and never looked back from there. It ran with OSS, OPA, and SBI in 2010. Here are the links for your verification purposes:

Forgot to add: The IMCO boat won that race against the almighty Fountain and its for sale!!! I heard a vicious rumor that a boat named Tug It is for sale also

I think he's asking if the fountain would be competitive with a sealed 525 motor, not its previous results in the past.

I know I get in trouble assuming, but I assumed since it passed tech @ 5 OSS sites (and they claimed to have the best tech enforcement in all of offshore) that it was a sealed 525

For sale for sale!!!!! Imco, Tug It, Fountain, and brand spanking new blank phantom 30 & 32 hulls!!!!!!

I apologize Dennis, like I said I assumed since the OSS rules specifically stated that it had to be a sealed 525. I figured prior results with it passing tech 5 times, would give you an idea since you did specifically said, "someone that ran OSS when it was introduced could answer the question" Your buddy never stepped up and responded, so I just posted the results for your review to see how it stacked up on paper instead of unmerited opinion

If OSS passed it then it must have been a STOCK sealed motor. Randy should be able to confirm this.
