11 Years Old...and perfect condition. It's still a 42...and it's still a legacy, and it still has the best hardware you can put on it...

Hi guys, i have a 05 39 quattro twin 525s boxes xrs.6 blade herrings.i love the way the boat runs, but am told i should be getting more top speed.I get 5100 rpm 92 to 93 on the gps all the time. The only time i get less would be heavy on fuel or people.is it true i should be getting 95,96 mph all the time.are my 6 blades to much???

You should be spinning about 5250-5300 for rpm. I have been told you have to give the 39's a little trim to get the higher numbers. You should be running 95+ no problem and light on fuel close to 98. Which 39 is yours?

I have the red tan orange,39 sold by ocean performance, with the full cabin.ASfor top speed being 95 to 98,i have trimmed the boat to 5and half on the indicaters and never saw those kind of speeds.I believe i have 34 inch 6 blades but with herrings theres no stamp on the wheels. When i purchased the boat,i also received a pair of mercury labed 5 blades.Inever put them on,what should i expect performance wise??Also should i send my 6 blades to herring, hoping they can get it just right.

The Herings would be the overall best prop for top end. It sounds like the props need to be tweaked a slight bit to get that final RPM. In my opion thats where the missing speed is especially with the 525's. I remember your boat when it was brand new at Ocean Performance. That is a great boat. If you remember at the Atlantic City poker run last year I topped off your drive reservoir and made sure you were good to go.
