Used that bad ass filler to glue the floor to the bottom and to the stringers and then glassed it in place around the whole thing with 3 layers of light chopped mat and one layer of combination mat (chopped mat and woven rowing)

Then topcoated the whole thing to seal it from humid and water. Now it's only the Perelli floor that needs to be glued in place.

Nice job with the tank install ! I hope the foam doesnt compress when you put 800lbs of fuel in the tank and take it wave hopping ! If it does the tanks going to move and the tabs bolted in will break off ! Im sure you took this into consideration .

Yes it stiff as hell! :D That old foam was a bit so and so... Both the rear tank brackets had broke loose and the front one had cracks in the welds. This is at least a better solution than that.

Tomas, nice work! I'm really impressed with the level of committment and the tidy workmanship. You're a lot braver than I am when it comes to boat repairs!

The thing is also that the tank on this Pantera is quite smaller than on most 28's to make it lower, so it's not gonna be as much as 800lbs even filled up to the top. The area of the foam plates underneath the tank is kind of big too, and since it's a pretty stiff material, as Tomas said, it will probably do the job. The idea is to provide support for the tank and the floor with remained flexibility. We have also welded the brackets on the tank all the way around them, instead of just on the sides, but anyway, thanks for pointing this out. I bet this baby is gonna be able to handle some serious waves out in the Baltic Sea this summer! :woohoo: :D :evilb:

Some clarification, it was just the welds that held the brackets. Not the tanks structural welds.

The "fat dude" is of course correct. The fuel tank is at 90gallons (580lbs) so that together with the weight of the tank should add up to a total of about 650-700lbs.
