Mike, We saw 84 out of yours on GPS at 5300 RPM with a stock 28 4 blade and basically the same set up. Well I ran the boat very conservative since it was almost dark out , 25 MPH winds from the North East , and we had a small hydraulic steering leak under the dash but saw 5500 RPM ( labbed 28' 4 blade with a few added tricks ) with more left in it so I feel the boat should be good once it is all dialed in for 85-87 MPH on GPS. We are going to do WOT testing in a few weeks since Mike will be bringing the boat back down for a few days to enjoy here in South Florida.

JO, Pepe and Linda, I want to thank you all so much for all your hard work these past couple of weeks. It was truely a pleasure. The boat turned out awesome and Im very happy with it. You all went above and beyond what I expected. I couldn't believe how many extra hours you worked just to get me out in time to enjoy the boat for Memorial Day. Thank you all again. I do look forward to coming down to run that in that big water you all have!!!!! thanks again..
Mike as far as the 90 thing goes I think may pushing it a little bit, but it does pin you back in your seat though. I'm sure after a little seat time and Jo running the boat we will see some good GPS speeds.
I'm sure either Jo or I will post some speed results when everything is dialed in..
thanks everyone for all the compliments. I do think that it turned out awesome. I will post some pics of it running soon promise..

Mike called a short time ago to inform me that he ran the boat up to 84 mph on the GPS recall at only 5200 RPM today in 90 degree weather with more throttle to go and a very conservative trim since he is getting use to the boat. Motor peaks out at 5700 - 5800 RPM so it should be running in the high 80s on GPS by the time we are dialed in with it. I am sure you will hear from Mike later today since he is out enjoying the boat this afternoon in the Chesapeake Bay.
I am really happy to know he is enjoying his new Pantera 28'.

GB, Thanks for the compliments!!! I was out yesterday as well and the water was pretty rough and that boat can take to some serious water! My wife who is still to this day scared of boats was comfortable with the ride and were in about 3 to 4 footers and she was hanging on, but never once told me to slow down we were running about 55 to 60 in the snotty stuff and she was happier than ever and kept egging me on to go faster I was freaked out by her comments.
But anyway on my way to a place called Jellyfish Joels we hit 87 GPS and not really sure of the Rpm was a little nervous cause I'm still learning the boat but I think it was around 5600 or 5700 something like that. This boat is incredible!!!! I still think I have some carb problems to work out and the motor seems as it's running a little to fat and then when I try to idle around I really have to fight with it to keep it running. I guess there are always little bugs. Any suggestions as far as getting the carb to run better while idling would be appreciated.
The problem I have is that there are so many places that I have to go 6mph/ or no wake zones that I do need to the motor to act a little better while trying to do this.
Oh and l ordered mufflers for the boat that were supposed to be here for the weekend, but they weren't and my lovely neighbors across the creek were having a good ole time yelling at me to keep the boat quite and with dry pipes I couldn't here a damn thing they were saying I just saw their lips and arms moving and I just waved high and gave them the thumbs up. LOL my wife and I were cracking up. It was the funniest thing you ever saw.
