I did notice there is adjustment on the mounting bolts. Should the engine be lowered? What driving line angles are acceptable.
I would guess it is about 3-5 inches too high for the hatch.

Thanks, Troy
Just seen this after my last post. I would guess that the engine is up because of the bravo drive & X dimension
I would drop the drive down level with the bottom of the boat & run a straight edge off of the V bottom & measure from the bottom of the v to the center of the prop shaft & that will give you a fairly accurate X dimension measurement.

As far as lowering the engine goes you cannot just lower the engine due to the fact that you would have Major alignment issues with the drive.

Get that measurment on the drive height & it will give you a good idea where you are. It wouldn't hurt to send ( Ironman )
an msg. Chris ( Ironman ) is a great guy & would be helpfull. He did a TRS to bravo conversion on his old 24 a while back & he may be able to tell you if he ran into any motor height issues. although all of the new 24's run bravos so I am guessing that the x is a bit high. But then again it may just be the tall intake & aircleaner combo , & a tall set of risers or somthing. Which is what you would hope for b/c that can be fixed with an engine hatch modification wich would be the simplest fix . Have you ever ran the boat ???

I can't really remember what the X should be but a guess would put the propshaft somewhere around 4-5" below the bottom. But again just a guess & I no longer have a 24 so I am not much help on an exact measurment. However Jo & Pepe are just a phone call or email away & they are always willing to help out. Also you will get great info on that here on the board.

Thanks again I'll take your advice, I'm having my dad check that dimension for me. I live about 2 hours from where I store the boat. From what I remember it was about 4 or so inches from the bottom of the boat.
I thought I read somewhere on OSO that the Bravo conversion required the engine to be mounted higher for the driveline to match up, but I can't find that post... and I think it was on an older Scarab or Sutphen. Also something to due with the hole being bigger for the Bravo than the TRS.
...truly, the highrise intake doesn't help either, but I'm more concerned about the exhaust sticking up. It could stand a new exhaust, one of the water intakes on the manifold had a crack around it that was welded up and painted, looks and works fine and I was checking this weekend ~2k for new exhaust.
No, I've never run the boat. I started it for the first time last weekend. I've been traveling for work and building a new house all this last year, not much time. Starting to slow down though, I'm hoping to salvage the rest of the boating season.

I remember there being an issue with the exhaust on the boat. I talked to Matt several times before you bought the boat b/c I was really close to heading to Boston to get the boat & decided to go another route with another project.

If anyone is still looking?
I saw yesterday a mid 90s 24SE at a small boat dealer in Old Saybrook, CT.
Fullthrottle Ron knows the guy I believe.
I do know the boat was down at Pantera for referb a few years back.
The boat is blue with a white deck, swim platform, BBC Bravo drive.

Right on Pat..his name is Bill Senack and his work phone number is 860-522-7147 x140.

He put a few bucks into redoing the boat.

Is this the same one?

Looks like it could use some new interior..............how long ago was it refurbished?

Yep still looking.......I like the 1998 28 with twin 454's on OSO, but my lake will remain flooded for the remainder of the summer. Unless I find a steal I'm just going to wait until next year.

I also found a 2000 28 with twin 500EFI's for $99,000...........maybe a little optimistic.

The add on the 2000 28' for 99k is the same boat that is in the classifieds here for $ 61,900 it is the former " Cherry Bomb " That ad still has the original owners name on it , so it must be pretty old.

The motors have like 330hrs and for a 500efi - thats rebuild time. How much do you think I could get for the pair of 500efi's on a swap for something a lot more reliable?
I would consider swaping a good set of fresh ( Work done by Mel Riggs ) Mild small blocks for those tired 500's. They are sweet & completly ready to drop in.
