The X should be 17"
|
Yes, the X is 17".
Jason confirmed that with Jo before the cutting was done. Everything is going to be new, the XR Drive, Transom assembly and the 572 cid EFI motor. The internals of the motor will handle upto 900 HP should I or someone else down the road decide to supercharge it. I was able to spend about an hour with the guys at Performance Marine on Friday afternoon. Very exciting to say the least to see things starting to come together. Can't wait for Dyno Day. |

Whatever Jo told us to put it at, I know jason was on the phone with him. The angle of the pic makes it look lower than it really is too, Ill take a better one tomorrow. Norm stopped by friday to check it out, hes pleased to say the least. :drink:

Did you guys measure the X dim up the face of the transom or with a 90 deg tool? I realize it ends up being only about 1/4 inch difference in crank cl to bottom but what is the standard that Pantera reccomends?
BTW my drive is holding up great tell Jason Thanks. Chris |

Good how have you been? Donzin is not me, no reason to change now just curious about the measurements, I set up my exhaust for 17.25" X std if I ever need to change to Bravo I will not need to move the exhaust. Did you move your 28 yet?

Donzin, congrats on your new ride and welcome to the Family! You're going to love it and have a great crew of guys to run with up in LG. |
Standard pleasure 28 is 17" and they raise it 1/2" for ITS.
Notched transoms are about 20" with a drive spacer to lower the propshaft back down 2-3" This what Jo told me when we discussed lowering mine another inch. |
Chris, good to hear about the drive. I wasnt there when they cut it, give Jason a call and he'll answer any questions you have. 518-644-3080

C'mon Kirk, it's not like they're just slappin' a Konrad on the back and dumping a GT whipple motor in there... Gotta a least give them until there's not 10 feet of snow on the ground to have it in the water. :evilb:
You're asking what? It's only been what, 2 weeks? |
Get on it!! Spring is just around the corner. Plus they do great work and I like to see what they have done to it!!!
|
Kirk,
The guys at performance are still accumulating the parts for the motor build. I spoke to Jason yesterday and he expects to begin the assembly sometime next week. I'll post some pics as soon as there is something to show. Unfortunately, the winter weather and ice on the lake are the biggest delay factors. Realistically, we're probably looking at an early May launch date regardless of how fast things happen on the assembly and installation side. Mother Nature still sets the schedule in the northeast. Jeez tough crowd :drink:

:ernaehrung004:Sounds like this is the fun part...
I am gonna run up to New York this weekend and look at my potential new ride this weekend to check out some of the Surveyed Items that popped up. Maybe when I run to Lake George to get the Donzi in March we can meet up and go over to Performance to look at your new Toy together Norm? I want to schedule a trip to Boyd's anyway to meet the crew. Good luck with the boat. I did love the graphic on the boat but with it on it will always be someone elses boat. Good to start with a clean slate. Mine is all white also. White is great. Your going to love the ride of the 28. I had one years ago. What a great boat. And this one was probably the cleanest around. Johnny builds good stuff youll be very happy. I want to spend a week at lake george this summer hope to see it in action.

What 28 are you looking at?
|
Hey Norm..I hung the poster..thanks! :drink:
|
Johnny,
Sorry I missed you yesterday. I was at the shop for awhile before you got there. I knew that banner would look great hanging in your shop. Jason reviewed all of the components of the motor build with me yesterday. I was going to get the spec sheet from him but I forgot. If you have it you can post it for everyone else to see. Assembly begins on Monday. I may try to stop in again next week. This motor is going to turn out to be a beast. Can't wait. Norm |
Hey Norm, Ill try an get it from him monday. Its going to be a hell of a package
|
looking for a 28 pantera

call me with any information 305-7960318 thank you Eddy |
Any updates? Engine pictures?
|
Motor is for the most part assembled and was painted righ after Norm left today. Should be on the dyno next week If I had to guess
|
Sounds like you guys are really moving!! What are you shooting for on the dyno?
|
Things are moving alone nicely. When I was there yesterday the internals of the block were all assembled as were the heads and manifold. It was being readied for paint. We're going to go with a black and chrome/polished aluminum color scheme. It's amazing how busy those guys (Performance Marine) are for being in "frozen over" upstate NY. Last week they had a Skater in the shop with twin 1300 HP engines. Plus there were also 3 or 4 other motors currently being built or rebuilt. Two weeks ago when I was there a truck pulled up and delivered a motor from a boat in Virginia which need some work.
The time and attention to detail is amazing. Anyway, our dyno day will be towards the end of next week or the week after. More to come. |
Thanks Norm
The paint came out great :ernaehrung004: |
Lets see the engine!!!!
Please! |
Ill take a few shots tomorrow
