Not really. If you get into big power, it will add a mph or two. I ended up changing from a 2" to a 3" drive spacer on mine. It carried the bow better, rode better at cruise speed and was about 2 mph faster at WOT than it was with a 2" spacer.

...... this boat i was planning on picking up in a few weeks after i can prove that i got a new job. Looks like i may have to start looking at Cigarette 28ss...............

the 28 Apache, single 635 700+ Hp runs maybe better than the Pantera.
the 32 Stinger twin 509's.
i'll get some pics once were all done.
