I left Miami on August 18, 1978 in a 24' Pantera w/ 2 Mercury outboards.
It took 42 hrs.
NO GPS or radars etc.
I had 2 compasses, "most" of the charts, an RDF and a VHF radio. Plus the desire to get to New York!
Long story!

that had to take some huge BRASS!!! even with todays technology it cant be an easy task. hats off!!

Most of us dont even know what an RDF is, I spent 2 hours in mine in ruff water last weekend, and that was enuff, 42 must have been insane.

For an encore, I would like to set a Miami to Bermuda to New York in a 41' pantera w/ triple O/B's or maybe Diesel I/O.
That would be a record!
