And the seller is all over the internet posting and posting away..boat for sale, boat for sale, and when he gets in a offer that is realistic for what the boat SHOULD sell for, he gets bent out of shape...DARN DARN i paid soo much money for it, and this is the only offer i have got..DARN DARN.
Reality folks Reality. Look at what the internet has created... No offense to any1 who enjoyes this sport and the cost it takes to do so. Maybe I am in a minority, but I know a few folks on this site can see where I am coming from |

So mgh why no ride still judging by your trickle down economics you should have a 24 & 28 for the cost of a big mac meal.
These are custom built boats not bayliners or tahoes. Generally people that own them have a good grasp on their value and are not destitute or overly anxious to sell for a settled price. |

buddy....lol. they are going to crucify you in here! I think alot of guys who own boats and pay to fix/run/operate them find it a bit insulting when people who dont own a boat talk like experts on value and cost.
Not to stir the pot but 'great shape' is a relative term......my boat is in pretty good shape and it is still a money pit. And just asking.... why didnt you buy one of the 25k boats? holding out for them to drop to 10grand? blow up the 700hp motor you will need to make one of these run respectably fast and see what it costs to fix it. I spent 30 grand on mine in the last 3 years. Brand new transom assembly, props, completely rebuilt 675HP motor, carbs, completely rebuilt drive, bilge redone, etc. Unless you want to run a slow assed pantera you have to spend money. But what do I know........I want a skater but for now I will only run what I can afford to break. Thats why I drive a Z06 instead of an F430......and a Pantera instead of a Skater. http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w...boating030.jpg |

Buyers determine the market...not the sellers ? Hmmmmmm...seems to me that the sellers are controlling what kind of boat you get, and how much you end up spending sir. I see a 18' Bayliner in your future. This sport costs money. Simple as that. Either you spend it...or you can nickel and dime your way thru it. If you choose the cheap way.....don't expect too many guys to tow you in. If you cant at least run with the pack....then stay on the dock...just make sure you wave when we all go by.

Yup exactly ,cant wait to see your deal of the century 28 and really cant wait to laugh when a motor or drive pops.
You creep around and only interject when talk of value comes up. Then say how everybody is bat sh1t for pricing. But the facts are the facts, a lot of these ”crazy priced” boats sell eventually. And you still dont have one. FOR SALE Pantera 24 race boat G`d out Merc 525 blower motor, bravo xr, fresh paint, and interior. $650 b / o ” its a recession ” |

what is your definition of 'giving it away'
when a seller determines he values more $$$ than a boat that is expense item, he decides to sell it for $$$. a low ball offer would be 20k for a boat asking 39k. i bet this guy sells his boat for close to 32k.... - 35k at most if a buyer is dead crazy on the USA theme. but then again who am i, a troll who interjects... |

Here's where your wrong , buyers don't dictate the market . They either pay what the seller is willing to sell it for or they move on . Just think of it like this , If someone walked up and gave you a new car does that me you have to give it to someone else . 88Bullet will tell you I ask him not to sell his boat for under thirty cuz I knew some $hit like this would happen . However he had a chance to move to the twin that he wanted so he went for the quick flip .
If a Pantera is listed for free to the person that writes the best paper on why they deserve the boat the most, are you going to criticize the next person for trying to sell his boat for what he feels it's worth to him or are you gonna write your paper ? And speaking of 24's for $48K . I was gonna list my 1979 24 for $40k , Your not gonna talk $hit about me are you ? Cuz if you are I know there's one you can buy for $5K on craigs list . |

$650 or best?? i think you should put that price up higher so you can afford your "hood rich" monthly trailer park rent
Good luck with your bargain boat. Im done here, ive learned that you cant argue with stupid, crazy, or ignorant. And you seem to be blessed with all three. Hood rich, g`d out those are just for fun, call me what u will....trailer trash...etc.... But you cant call me a tire kicker, if I want something I buy it and dont whine over the price like a b1tch. |
Sellers control the situation...
Buy a cheap one with no power. JC might have some hot power cheap for ya :evilb: |

This thread is hilarious knowing most of the parties involved lol
Everyone has a point here and it simply comes back to the basics...pay little now or a lot later and you get what you pay for. So true with boats. A "deal" can turn sour REAL quick with boats. Honestly a well kept 28-30 boat should sell anywhere from 20-40k with a lot of that depending on power and add ons. Also sellers position will always influence the price. Me I havent used the phantom in two years but will I give it away? Hell no. Now ask me again when i'm ready to pull the trigger on a new business or get around to finally having kids that might change....lol MGH I know you have been looking for a long time and no problems there, patience pays off, but that does not mean because a couple sold for 20 others are not worth 40. It just that you are not willing to pay 40 which is fine. Making broad statements is what's getting you into a bit of a hole. That said carry on gentlemen this is fun.... Oh and scarabs 24 WILL be worth 50k just for getting rid of the clown colors it had when I sold it to him!!!! :lolhit: |
