WAY cool. I saw the utube vid of that boat. That's gonna be a blast to run Mike. Two of my sponsors are chiropractors, I suggest you look for the same. :-)

Who did the pic? I need to do that for some ideas I have for my boat

SS930 02-04-2012 05:47 PM

I like the green rub rail a lot, but I suspect it will really show the wear after it's taken a little abuse. Personally I'd go with black so it hides the wear better.

Looking good Mike!!!

Its Photo Shop CS5 Commercial that runs the wrap and sign shop $1700. That was five minutes but if I sit down and take my time I can make it look like a real photo . You can do the same thin with any photoshop once you figure it out .

Guess its time to get photoshop loaded in my laptop

IRONMAN 02-04-2012 09:41 PM

I would do a std rubrail, alum or black and tape or paint green the uderside of the overhang and a 1.5" stripe on the hullside below that so it looks similar to the photo but it gives a little 3D effect to the green over the black.

I think Ironman has the ticket! Nice looking rendition. Did you buy that boat out of Montague, MI.? I saw it there a few years back.

Boat was sanded down with a mud hog with 40 grit to cut down on time and remove high spots then skim coated with fiberglass filler .

And sanded , sanded and sanded some more !

Deck was primed with quick fill . Quick fill is a resin based primer that is great for building . It's as close to a spray on filler as you'll ever see . But sometimes you need to prime to see damage that was hidden so we cut back into some hairline cracks we found .

Hull was overall good , only had to fill pinholes exposed by sandblasting , skim a bad fill job where the boat had docking lights and a few stress cracks in the forward V from rock docking

OCCJoe 02-27-2012 09:30 PM

Deck was primed and one of my custom 1/8 aluminum windscreens was fitted

OCCJoe 02-27-2012 09:36 PM

Hull was primed ! The finish from the strake down was good and made for a good base without priming so thats why you still yellow .

OCCJoe 02-27-2012 09:43 PM

Hull was blocked down and any imperfections were filled or sanded out

OCCJoe 02-27-2012 09:50 PM

Final prime was done on hull . Was blocked , wet sanded , then painted with Base and clear .

OCCJoe 02-27-2012 09:56 PM

Last of the filling was done on the deck and it was primed and blocked one last time before paint .

Mike it was great doing business with you and we all wish you the best with your Pantera in OPA class six . Hopefully we can get the Pantera's together for a little hell raising this summer .

rchevelle71 02-28-2012 06:35 AM

Nice,

that filler work looks all too familiar, at least now I know mine isnt the only one to stresscrack in those corners.

CIG3 02-28-2012 07:57 AM

WOW:eekdrop:

You have done an amazing job on her. Will be great to see her out doing what she was bred for in a few months.

bigboat28 02-28-2012 08:33 AM

scarab63 02-28-2012 10:02 AM

Well, after a long weekend im home!

To see what this hull was to what it now is, is very exciting for me!!

Joe truly did a great job & is a true craftsman.
He is also very ambitious with some of his other projects & im sure they will all come out great.
I cant wait to see his 24, & other projects.
