Got back from nc went to drag the boat about 30 miles to adpro to do the graphics & this c0ck state trooper pulls me over. Doesnt like that I have my trailer registered as ” homemade” which I always reg all trailers that way, because mass is such a pain to reg anything. Then he says the trailers ” not homemade” and runs the vins which come back legit. Then he doesnt like the registered gvw of the trailer. Arrrrggg

Then walks around the boat & notices no hin tag, which I have in the truck & show him & also explain its off due to fresh paint.

Decided to put my baby in impound for 3 days!!!! All set now.
Ill be going to maine to reg this trailer & cant wait to see my new buddy on the road.

Was their a original HIN number under the NLO HIN?

Sounds good, keep me posted.

Have yet another motor going together that will likely be going to dyno in a few weeks. Delayed a bit as the cam I had picked out was on a 112 and since I'll be selling the motor a 114 will be marketable. The 112 would make a great race cam for ya with the right (dry) exhaust. Then again dry is the only way to go on a boat like yours anyways!!!

scarab63 03-08-2012 05:00 PM

You have a lot of $hit.
Yes itll have drys

1.Cut the hole using this handy jig. Went conservative @ 17” X.
Decided to keep it a bit lower, may sacrifice a couple mph, but dont want the prop blowing out in a hard corner racing etc.....

2. Once the holes cut, put some resin in to preserve the hole.

3. HP gimbal assy

Motor`s in & aligned.

Dart 454, dart heads, 177 blower,

not dynoed, but maybe 550 hp ?
Bit higher comp than a stock merc motor.

2.5”......I think ??? Cant remember.
We were worried about the gimbal studs going all the way through due to the meat of this transom. But worked out fine. Not much threads to spare though.

Wicked cool . Keep slaving away.

I thought it looked extra thick. Industry standard is 2.25" when you make it thicker, you lose input shaft engagement into the coupler.

With the transom 2.75" you've lost .5" of input shaft engagement engagement. =Don't aske me how I know...had this issue years ago with a TRS boat. stripped out the splines in short time...

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but check the engagement. I had extended spline shafts made.
