24 battery box ideas?
 

Finishing up my paint work, starting to wrap up my bilge..However i dont have any battery boxes or platforms..Anyone have any pictures of what they have?
This is the only picture i have of my bilge. It was from before i bought it. Its much cleaner now lol.

Mine are on the shelf behind the bulkhead. Above fuel tank. Not sure if you bilge is the same up there?

Get some 1/4 aluminum plate and weld it to an optima box . Then bolt them to the stringer as close to the back of the seat as possible . Make sure their on the outside of the stringers that way their not taking up space in front of the Motor. Make sure to use transom washers to make it nice and clean

But doesnt the weight of the battery put huge stress on the stringers?

The motor sits on the stringer - the batteries are nothing! Not the same boat but mine are in the floor hatch. Don't have to worry about the hatch not opening and easier access than leaning over the back of the seat!

I know the motor sits on the stringers....But the outside of the battery wont be sitting on anything...What happens when they bounce?

If you can picture the battery on the outside of the stringer and the aluminum plate about 8" down the stringer it would give you room for 4 bolts

The battery has to be fully supported. Be it with the tray or with the tray and wood fiberglassed across the stringer to the side.

Room enough to put under rear seat. Sacrifices some storage, but cleans up bilge. Plus if u use a electric hatch you can easily access the batteries if they run down.
