Default going to look at the army boat

i am going sunday 3-20-16 after lunch to look at the army boat.
that date can change based off weather or other factors but, i'm looking for a third party to go with me as a second set of eyes, if another day fits someone else schedule that could work,

i believe the owner is being truthful with me, and i don't think anyone selling anything would care if a potential buyer arrived with another set of eyes, plus i'd really like another opinion on the structural integrity of the hull

let me know your schedule, i'll pay gas buy lunch, etc., boat is in quincy fl.

pm me your number

thanks,
dan

should i post this here in pantera or in the general section,

Hopefully your getting it for a lot less then listed . It's had some hull mods that would cause it to be expensive to turn back into a pleasure boat . Pantera used a lot of wood in their builds all the way up to the last one built so just check as best you can to make sure the stringers and transom sound dry and solid . It's been raced , bumped , jumped , and probably turned on its side several times so just look the hull over for cracks .
I use to jump in and just buy projects . Now I do the math first and show the seller the math figures .
$18,000 hull
$7500.00 even for a cheep motor
$5000.00 paint and body
$2000 upholstery
$3000 odds and ends you didn't even know you needed ...
$35000 in a 24 Pantera not the best but not the worst either !
No seller should ever mind you bringing a second set of eyes to look over a boat ..
Good luck , and keep us posted !

have u looked at the yellow restored boat listed negotiable at 23,500
not been raced and completely gone through
u can spend $ on how u want it and still be under buying a hull only that's been raced

I wouldn't say that boat was raced hard, and I don't think to many times either

i keep getting knocked off when i type for a while

finally, i'm in

thank you all in advance for responding and for your advice, it will be heeded.

near as i can figure it raced in 06 was hit very early on in the season but raced the next day, then was repaired at pantera.
it raced in 07 then i think it was back at pantera then poof gone.

present owner states he's had it for 3 years.

so the missing 5-6 years and how it was stored is 1 of my concerns, as it does not have a cover.
the other is it looks like it's had 3 exhausts on it.
so possibly rigged 2 time after the original

anyone know who had it or where it was for those missing years i'd love to hear from you

the offer still stands to come look at this boat with me.

paul i'll fly you in and put you at up a nice hotel if you'll do the same for me when cambridge and oxford have their boat race ha!

I just googled 24 pantera army. there is a bunch of pics of it on the pantera website. it would be something of a collector's item. did you email Pepe and ask his opinion of it?
