I have some feedback I'd like to share.
With a standard rotation 25 mirage I am running a solid 65 on gps at 4800-4900 rpm. Two guys less than 340lbs with 40 gallons fuel, trimmed out on flat water. I am pretty happy with this but would like to see higher 60's. Also around 3500 rpm I am at 47ish mph (aprox 15-16% slip at both speeds)
One run was with 3 people @ 455 lbs, 3/4 tank fuel against my friend's ski gps'd 68 earlier in the day and we were dead even. He was on flat water by the shore and I was in the channel with a little chop.

454ci gen VI bottom end, #088 square port heads, Weiand Team G intake, lightning headers, holley HP950 carb, full msd ignition.
Comp Cam XM270HR 0.510 int./0.510 exh. lift, 218 int./224 exh. duration, 112 lobe separation with I believe 1.7 roller rockers.

The boat's x dimesion is 16.5". It was originally an alpha boat. It's now a Bravo 1.5 ratio.

I don't think the weight is going to play too much of a role with this boat but I have no cabin, dual batteries, bennet tabs with electric rams so no pump, no stereo. Simple cockpit but very much a stripped down boat. There is an anchor in the cabin...40lbs?

I have a 25 hydromotive 4 blade and a 26 laser 2 to try. Do I try a mirage 27 or a Bravo I 26? I heard the bravo I will lose top end but also read somewhere that the drive depth would work better with a 4 blade prop. Is this true? I also don't know if I should look at the mirage plus props.

Thank you!

how sure are you about that 16.5 x ? my math says 5 5/16 prop shaft depth, that's close to where i want to put my drive. (5 1/8)
are you using a standard mercury lower with side pickups ?
how much hp / trq you think your making ?
thanks

Standard Bravo, side pickups. Although I use a through hull pickup.

prop shaft is about 6" below the pad.

maybe 425hp, not sure.

Try a 23 Mirage plus, Can you or will the motor spin higher rpm safely
