How fast do they run with the 225 and how reliable are they? I've heard allot of complaints about the bigger(2.5' and 300's) OB not being reliable.
What year did you switch from mounting the OB's on the transom to OB brackets? Brian |

Hey Rob,
This will be you soon. JO |
Speeds with twin 225 Pro Max Mercs. in the low to mid 80s on GPS.
Reliability with the Pro Maxs seems to be very good. Late 80s we started mounting them on short offset brackets. Regards, JO |
By the way that is a 1999 24' SE powered by a 454 Mag MPI.My customer was out playing around offshore looking for waves to jump.Boat is located here in Miami.

Love that picture of the 24 in the air like that, but I am afraid I would have to go for a swim after that, just to flush the shorts out!!!!!! |

Originally posted by rchevelle71 I am torn on which way to go when I finally get it together, of course I love the sound of the big block, but would also like the extra cockpit space, and the reliability, and easy maintenance of the O/B???? Are some of the older O/B ones set up this way at all?? unfortunately I dont think I will have the $$$$ to buy a new one anytime soon. Brian |
