All the places mentioned are great. Nautical being my fav. I can tell you the river is a little intimidating at first. Best bet is to follow someone with like sized boat into the river from lake. There is a bouyed shoot to the left heading up that was dredged out for boat passage, no wake. The local way is full throttle from far right to middle land strip. I live there part time and it still is ****ty getting into the rriver. Once your in, just follow river thought process, water is deeper in current and mostly stay in middle. Its crazy running 70 and looking down and seeing bottom! Its a must do though. There are no stumps or rocks per say, just shallows with sand.

From the south end of the lake to the north end of the bay before going up river there are no stumps or sandbars, it is deep, wide and about 15-20 miles of fun running. To go up river you can go on the right side of the small island at the mouth and chance a shallow or on the left side they dredged a few years and put in a no wake zone between markers. If you do go up river you will be fine up to the 40/Needles area. Any farther North I hear gets very rocky and shallow in areas, we have never been farther than Pirates Cove at the 40.

You will definitely have fun, if you choose the right side and scream through the sandbar at the mouth of the river I recommend you coordinate with someone first, not every boat going that way knows what they are doing and the best path has changed over the last few years some.. It is a very short section to get through but it can get shallow. The left side is dredged and no wake but safe. I'm taking off work and will be out and about watching but I'm not participating. Last year I was a safety boat but don't plan on that again.
