epeek- I thinks its about time you traded that old 2005 X on the brand-y new 2006 model, yours is starting to look a little dated! Called Reggie today, told him I'll give him a couple of G's to fill your new race fairing with lead, it may give my (resin bucket) a bit of an edge.

XPRESS 33PP, I saw that boat when it was one year old and a few times since. It was always clean. I was told at the Miami boat show 80-82mph, but since most 500hp boats run 82+ or-, I'd say 78. Still a very nice boat. When it gets rough most will lag behind your resin bucket!

What and when is the Queen's Demo Race on Lake George? I love that area and am planning on bringing a boat up there sometime early summer.

As far as speed, Ed here on the board has given me more Powerplay information than I can remember, but the boat should run right around 80 + or -. He also told me some boats ran considerably faster with 496s and some "freak motors" actually got in the high 80s, almost 90. My own personal feeling on that is I've had Chevy guys tell me that GM doesn't trash aluminum blocks, so if there is a problem with the block from the factory, they have been known to bore the block out and install bigger pistons. Perhaps that is the explanation? I don't know for sure. Your boat will have the higher x dimension which Powerplay started in very late 1997, 1998 when the first low water pickup Bravo drives and Bravo One propellers came out. According to what Ed has told me, this picked the boats' top speed up almost 5 mph.

Thanks for all the info. I have been in 2 brand new Fountain 35 X's with 496's and they both ran a solid 78-79 on GPS in fresh water. I don't think the Powerplay would run any faster without a stepped hull. 80 would be great but I'm not going to get my hopes up. As far as the Queens Demo Race I think its the weekend before Memoial Day weekend. I will try to get all the information tomorrow and I will pass it on. Last year I was a passanger in epeeks Fountain, we had a blast! Alot of great boats, they rented a chopper for videos & pictures - good time!

Go to this link...

scroll down on the far right and download "image resizer". You will be able to right click on any picture on your computer and re-size it after you download this program.
