I have a 12,000lb for a safety margin. if you are full of fuel, gear, any people on the boat, etc. The price is almost the same.

There wont be any people in the boat. Its for when the boat is not being used and stored on a lift behind a house.

Thumbs up Re: 33 Sportdeck Total Weight with HP500

We always bought 10,000 lb. capacity tandem Myco or South Florida Trailer, trailers for any of the 33's...whether is was an inboard or an outboard model. 10,000 is fine for a lift as well. There is a good safety factor of weight capacity designed into all lifts. The only reason you would buy larger, would be if you were planning for a larger boat in the future, which you might want to consider. The PP brochure weights were decieving, as they represented completely bare hull & deck "fiberglass only" weights. I believe the brochure stated the 33's weight at 2,950 lbs. There were no light lay-up pleasure boat 33's. The lamination schedule was the same for every 33' SD, from 1990 on up. The race boats were a different story. 1987, 1988 & 1989 production lamination schedules were different as well. Hope this helps. Ed

Thanks Ed, that really helps. I dont really know the cost difference but if I can go with a 10,000 lb lift, then there is no reason for 12k. Thanks again.
