Indy as you know nothing supports weight like a horizontal surface ,now with the 22 degree bottom Dan chose to go with a Pad large enough to be effective but not beat you to death in bumpy conditions, But still need something on the 25 for it to run on when all is said and done.

If it was a straight Vee let's say and running 3-4 degrees and better bow up, you now are trying to balance the thing on a half Pyramid shaped piece of running surface. He chose th run it on a ski instead.

The names as I remember.

OB powered Powerplay long decks were Sport Decks.

IO Powered Powerplay Long decks were Super Sport.

Open Sport Fish were OB or IO.

Where there ever any 25s made with a flat transom and bracket like the 28? What was the reason for the transom design?

most boats run better with the o/b's on the transom

There is a picture of one in here,Most of the 25's the engines were direct transom mounted and I had a large splash well in the 25 Sport Decks. Transom reason: was 4 Bolts got the engine hung as was the plan form the beginning..

The 33's were tested both ways ,direct mounted and the Bracket Danny worked out after a LOT of testing, this setup got the best speed and handling.

A superb "ride" through time Steve.

Incredible photo spread and documentation.

It must have been a great experience to work and learn at PP.

Not having seen the rigging and layup of this brand before, I have a much better understanding of why the owner base is justifiably proud of their machines.

Thanks for sharing the ride.
