Thanks. Saw this one and actually spoke to the seller. Boat seems to be in good shape but can't get over the VERY yellow hull. I much prefer the PP factory graphics.

Steve 1, this is a great thread and played very insturmental part in my decision to purchase a Powerplay. I am the proud new owner of "No Life Like It". The boat is currently being transported from FL. to LOTO and should be there by the weekend. my transport guy wieghed the whole rig at the Flying J. 38' SS on the trailer, with some gear in the boat and approx 125 gallons of fuel weighed in 11700 lbs. The trailer title says the trailer wieghs 2200lbs. I know this isn't exact answer to the question, but maybe it helps.

On the first 4 we were moving a lot of things around and the weight was changing a little, 3800-4000 would be a fair guess on the glass work, it is a big boat. I will get the exact weights ,we have the exact weights it is just digging them out.

Having seen the rough water that can kick up at LOTO, and having seen 40'+ V bottoms bouncing up and down, you have a 38 footer that can handle anything that body of water will throw at you. Congratulations! :Score-101010:

The sister boat to yours (C class outboards) Danny and I built ran in the 90's ,the normal triple outboards ran in the upper 80's Danny had one we called the blue stripe with triples was very fast also.

Danny Sir if you are reading this, Thanks Boss speaking for my family ,we all liked working for you and miss the place and Wendy was like a sister to us as well.

Steve 1 08-24-2010 12:44 PM

Here is the C class boat behind yours ,we have detail pictures of it somewhere.

Had the chance to give a close look to a 38 last weekend (No Life Like It); VERY impressive boat!

Interesting bottom design; what are the inner set of chines called and what is the intended purpose of them?

ludo73 08-26-2010 10:51 AM

what do you think about those gauges => http://www.hardin-marine.com/p-231-s...combo-set.aspx

The inner strakes they provide lift, now this has to be a balanced effect you want the hull to sink in a little to avoid slamming on reentry but NOT too much,The placement and size play a role here as nothing supports weight like a Horizontal surface.

Danny spent a lot of time running the plug boat and the strakes were a critical part of the development.

Here you can see the way they were placed and Danny was doing the photography and he has an eye good as I have ever ran across.

Those are trammel points in my hand always checking.

ludo73 08-26-2010 11:03 AM

no, just at the left, like a "pocket"

would need pics from under the back seats too please(where the tank and the batteries are), to see if everything is correct on my boat

That was one of the many small parts for that boat built in the lamination shop.

under the seat,I will have to look through the pictures and find some.

yeah, it is now a pleasure boat though. its the lightest I/O PP ever built, I think steve said 1850lbs ready for rigging.

Yes it was all up Bagged Airex, Kevlar ,S-Glass,Carbon fiber and was built for Danny as the factory race boat. it was better than a 1000 pounds lighter than a stock 33 hull and deck
