Hey Steve. Because I'm curious, What kind of light can you shed on The Saris's(fast fun 1) 32 Cobra they just picked up with the PP deck on it which they intend to race. A buddy had a 32 cobra and another with a 33 pp. What a cool combo. I figured you might be the guy to ask.

This boat is at Velocity right now, Kenny said it was for sale.

Has a radar arch on it now, I didn't get to stop and look. He said he thought the motors had under 300 hours!

I might be by there Friday, be interested to see what kind of shape it is in.

fastdonzi 06-05-2012 08:34 PM

Wow. Find out, thats heck of a boat, and if you guys don't want it I may have a friend that does....

twinskrewd 06-11-2012 09:03 PM

Yep, it's for sale:

http://www.boattrader.com/listing/20...y-38-101786395

Personally not a fan of that arch. The boat is very cool, however.

Steve, I just took a week on-and-off reading through this thread. This is exactly the reason I love forums like OSO. Your tooling and rigging work is the very definition of artisanal workmanship. When I'm ready to look at upgrading, I will most certainly look for a PowerPlay!

Wildman_grafix 06-11-2012 09:43 PM

I got a closer look at it Saturday when I dropped my boat off.

The arch install was not the best, hull and paint looks pretty good. Only peaked in cockpit, still could be a great offshore.

Talk about bullet proof, those engines and drives,,,,,,,,,,its a nice boat.

We were like Dannys Family there , I miss the place , Thank you for reading the thread .

That diesel PP is awesome! What kind of speed did that setup yield? That to me is the ultimate sport boat, seems like a good price to.

cowisl 06-12-2012 08:04 AM

What the heck is with the PVC in the cabin?!! What a shame. Looks like there has been some neglect.

Ha...You 38 PP guys don't miss a thing! I sent Oliver the OSO ad and he saw the two lifting eyes on the deck and noticed the PVC poles also. They were there for some type of lifting capacity obviously. That boat will end up in the Virgin Islands for sure, those guys love Powerplays and the diesel power is just a bonus!

It ran 81 , the two speed transmissions rocked , when you shifted , the boat would push you back in the seat .

Twin O/B Sonic 06-12-2012 09:28 AM

Wow!

That's very impressive. I also agree to the diesels in that environment.
If I was able to write a blank check for that style/and size of boat that's what it'd be. Yeah it'd be twenty MPH's slower than the big dogs but mine would be in the water instead of the shop and I'll be spending 50% less on fuel.
Diesels rock!

My bet is Martinique. They love them even more down there and seem to have the $$$ to buy. Arch gotta go though!

Steve 1 06-12-2012 02:45 PM

Danny , would be the one to Restore that too "as Built " , The Blue Diesel was my Favorite 38 .

twinskrewd 06-12-2012 03:55 PM

Yea be kind of nice not having to rebuild every 500 hours. Don't have to worry about breaking drives either.

All the Photos of Powerplay would take a while to post in the1000's , They were packed away ,
I will get Powerplay Dan to Get a pile of them out , Thank you for the interest .

mccaffertee 06-12-2012 08:40 PM

There should be lots of pics, it took so long to build a PP boat that there should be a lot more pics than days the biz was producing....
LOL!!!

Is it true there were no 28's with outboards?

COWISL on here had one.

rlj676 07-24-2012 05:44 PM

My notes from Ed on here says there are 2 outboard, and 2 or 3 singles, the other 8 or so are twin I/O's. Basically they're all extremely rare.

The one pictured above doesn't look like Chris's (Cowisl) I don't think, so I believe 2 could be right.

That one was ours. Unique history. I was told there were only two built. That one is now currently on Lake George owned by a member on the board. Currently sports two 300's.

Cool, wonder what the other looks like then?

You had updated yours though I think and that's probably what I remember, that or just pics w/ some chicks on the back.:evilb:

Hmmmmm well looks like its back to looking at a 25. I dont think a 33 is in the cards just yet.

shaun1368 07-25-2012 07:33 PM

Had a 25 PP OB since 99' and loved it!. I'd been looking for a 28' PP w/ ob's for the past 10 years - Never understood why you never saw one for sale. When I heard they only made 2 (or perhaps one) it started to make sense. When COWISL's went up for sale, I had to jump on it . Its a great size for twin OBs - 24 degree like the 33 but a bit lighter. I would hope the revived PP brings back the 28.

ls1nova 08-26-2012 10:03 PM

Anyone know how many 33's were built with the 3 drop down bolster seats in the back instead of a bench seat?

Thanks,
Frank

Would be sweet to see how much work it would be to do a conversion...
Haven't heard much from the new PowerPlay, hope to see some being built soon. Supposedly you can order a stepped 33 now w/ a carbon layup :drool1:

The Wizard 09-20-2012 09:35 AM

Hey boyzzzz...

My buddy Andrew just told me your guys were on the 3 bolster back seat topic on the 33...I had that set up....i really felt that my passengers were tucked in nicely when running in rough water...But if you were just hanging out at the dock it wasnt too comfortable. but...i had that boat built to run hard...i had that bad boy running 105 in its day...i'll see if i can did up some photos of the back seats....

i do miss that boat still today....

:drink:zzie
