Re: Powerquest Factory
Caution! Monday Rant!
Yes sad it is .. went by the plant on Fri. ... turned around and took a look around and thought - how could a company that had such a great customer following go down so fast. Most companies only dream of loyalty at that level. 2 More years and PQ would have made it 25yrs. I remember going to the 10th anniv. party in 93 and was blown away by the loyalty. Was like all the owners were one big free sales dept.
Only thing I can figure is owner thinks the place still has a ton of "Blue Sky" value... better wake up from the dream .. If they had a clue they would have at the very least contracted a spokesperson to keep a fire burning while they sorted it all out. Never even gave the employees a chance at a buyout.
Whole thing seems really odd....
old quote from owner in powerboat mag:
"Call it synergy. Call it a renewed commitment to the company. Call it whatever you like, but Powerquest is on the move. Since Grand Products president Jack Moll purchased Power-quest Boats almost two years ago, we've noticed a couple of welcomed trends: a renewed commitment to quality and an eye toward customization."
Yeah - we have noticed a couple trends too ...
Think owner can be contacted here...if they are still in biz...

Re: Powerquest Factory
Did anyone try to send an email to Mr. Moll? I wanted to but haven't yet. If anyone sent one, did you receive an answer? Maybe we should collectively send an email to him to show the interest the brand still has. I would have to believe the following on this board would be a selling point. Prepacked customers and salespeople.
What do you all think?

Re: Powerquest Factory
I'm in for what its worth. Does that mean I'll be on the pay roll??
For what it's worth I heard the potential problem may have been with the buyer?? Little short on operating funds. Hard to say I have a hard to believing anything anymore just like a lot of people. To be honest as time goes on I seem to care less and less.
But I'd be in into sending an e-mail to Jack.

Re: Powerquest Factory
I don't know if they are or not. I tried sending an email and was not successful from their website. I tried another area and it worked. I also wrote their webmaster a note and asked if they are still in biz or not.
I am not very optimistic at this point.

Re: Powerquest Factory
I received a very quick response from Mr. Scott Moll, [email protected]
Grand Products does not own Powerquest they are a customer!. All that we know is that a sale is under way and expect that company to be up and humming by or around Sept!

To Whom It May Concern (or Mr. J. Moll),
Does Grand Products own the PowerQuest boat manufacturing company? If so, I understand that there might be sensitive sales negotiations going on at this time. I am a member of a group of PowerQuest boat owners that are very concerned about the well being of the factory. Is there any information that can be shared at this point?
Thank you for any information at all,
David Farrington

Re: Powerquest Factory
Also received one from the webmaster:
Yes as far as I know, but you may want to contact someone who can give out that information accurately like the chamber or the city where they are located.
