This is great news. We just traded our 27 for a 38 at Great Lakes Marina with Ed Geerlings last October. He told us at that time the word was the factory would reopen the first quarter of 07. We are the new owners of the boat that the instrument and glove box panels were repainted as well as other paint work by Mitcher T. I've read the posts by the previous owner. I believe he is 38 powerquest and is looking to go with Cigarette. We bought our first PQ new in 1998 at the Springfield, Illinois Boat Show from Clinton Marine who is no longer a PQ dealer. We loved our boat but soon wanted to step up and toured the factory in 1999 hosted by Ryan Cole. We took our boat along to have some warranty issues addressed. While there we saw a 38 in the later built stages and a 38 hull fresh out of the mold. We were further motivated and have been looking for the right 38 since. PQ repaired every thing on our 27 and returned it shrinkwraped to our home in Springfield IL. I don' see Baja doing this. We bought the 38 with full confidence as of all the positve PQ experiences we've had. We haven't picked up the boat yet it is 6 hours away in storage at Great Lakes Marina. Ed Geerlings and Jamie Souders have been wonderful to deal with furthing our good PQ experience. This is the longest winter ever waiting for the oncoming boat season.

Congrats Dave on the "new" 38. I know what you mean about the long winter wait. I just picked up my 34 on 1-3-07. I talked with an associate at the factory on 1-5-07 and he said they are going to complete the boats they already have on order. I'm sure they'll announce when their ready to take new orders.

Thumbs up Re: Powerquest Factory

Jamie was very patient with us on our sea trial in October. Temp. low 40's and extremely windy with a rough chop. The boat handled it better than we did. Good luck on the search for your new toy. And GO BEARS!!

not a new 38 but new to us and we believe nicer than new. We really like the upgrades that the previous owner (powequest 38) did to her. the Mitcher T. paintwork makes this 38 one of a kind. We feel really lucky to be the new owners. I'm sitting here looking out the window at the frozen pond wondering if summer will ever arive. After the Super Bowl what do we do for fun until time to pick up the boat?
