I have held off on expressing my frustration for quite a long time but this has gone on way to long. A simple press release or a few updates on the news section of their website wouldn't be to hard. I think it is pretty ridiculous that PQ hasn't informed any following they "Had Left" or potential shoppers. With no communication how can PQ even be on anyone's list of manufactures to look at for their next boat purchase. Considering this is the most talked about Thread in the PQ section of OSO with over 45,500 views and 730 posts PQ has lost out on a tremedeous amount of free advertising and word of mouth.

I realize OSO may not be the most professional place for a manufacturer to directly post updates but if they updated their website we could all spread the word. I also don't blame them for not wanting to use OSO as a direct means of communication with customers but come on and start promoting your company.

I am sure they are working hard and want to come out with a great new product when it's ready but their silence is stating to show a potentially unintended attitude. Communication is one of the keys to success for any company. So if anyone is listening at PQ let's hear some excitement about your future.

I Agree, Why Not Feed Us Some Information Unless They No Longer Are Intrested In Us , The Old Owners.

I Really Believe They Are Looking For A New Base. Why Else Would They Ignore Us.

I agree. I think they want to go high end with the new product. They have thrown out names like Outerlimits and Skater. Powerquest used to be a niche builder that focused on "Value" and thus had great appeal in West MI. The original PQ owners failed because they didn't market that product very well nationally. I fear our little PQ company feels it has outgrown it's base.

I agree they are really missing the boat here. On the other note....Outerlimits and Skater??? I love my Avenger but let's be honest, I am not sure they are going to step up to that league...good luck to 'em.

The originall owners didnt fail, back in 2000 they where on top of their game. Then they sold it and the new owner ran it into the ground, from alot of bad decisions and lack of boat building experience.

And maybe the new PQ owners want to reach out to new customers,Lets face it,if they came on board today and made some kind of announcment how many of us would really run out and buy a new PQ???
I know I would not be.Iam happy with what I got for now.

I am not sure if Powerquest wants to target a specific customer base or not. But I do know when I called there a week or so ago and spoke with Bob about getting a red rocker switch for my horn to replace my white one, he checked on it for me and called me back in like 10 minutes.I received it in a few days in the mail for 5 bucks. He was friendly and took the time to B.S. with me.

I didn't realize they was another owner in 2000. So is that to say the boats built from 2000 & up may have some build deficiencies? Or was their boat building experience lacking in the financial area?

not trying to hijack, just curious what year the 'Factory' made the best boats? Should I start another thread?

Kevin Herdis was one of the original founders/owners and then sold the company in 2002,Then soon after that is when PQ ran into problems,

I don't think it was a problem with the boats or quality. 2002 is when the Michigan economy started to slow and I suspect that had a huge affect on their business which had a mostly mid west following. I also think since this economy is still lagging may be part of the reason PQ is taking things slow.
