I have just purchased a 95 powerquest 34 viper with 500 hp's and would like some feed back on a good low cost whipple style supercharger set up for the motors, I am looking for a moderate hp increase that will get the boat up into the mid to high 80 mph range, the boat runs 78 mph now. I was considering the weiand blowers or the whipple set up, but i am not sure since the whipples are $6500 each and the weiands are $2500, what is the big difference ? does anybody have experience with either of the 2 set ups ?

If you have a straight hull, '95 Vyper with stock 500 hp's that runs a legitimate GPS speed of 78 mph, I wouldn't touch the motors. My 99 stepped hull Vyper with 500 EFI's only runs 74 GPS. If you install the superchargers, let me know how the work.
