Honestly they are all pretty nice trucks each have their own up and down side.

cpiefer06 02-22-2011 08:05 AM

But I do agree that I would be in favor of any truck that was helping pull my boat in any direction... LOL

I can actually quote u saying they wernt a true 38, having only a 34 running surface and being too big for the chain with some past thread digging.

LoL, unless you were "just razzing" uncle C???

Dodges are the heavier of trucks as well.(in the diesels)
Calvin , your 38 full of fuel sitting on a steel triple axle trailer only weighs in at 12,400 lbs??
Thats pretty light for a 38' package?!?

It had about a half tank of gas.......but it was loaded with all the gear......My trailer is a Pacific Trailer and it is C channel not boxed.

Thanks for all the help and info.

So if I was to make an educated guess at the weight of the boat and trailer, full tank of fuel and loaded with gear for the weekend it would be in the neighbourhood of 13000 lbs??
Sound right?

specialk 02-23-2011 07:55 PM

hey verbie,

what did you end up buying. I must have missed the post but i see the new pic in your avatar.

Wow Verbi 525s in a 280 that boat will be faster than Uncle Kevins!!!:grinser010:

PWRQUEST 02-23-2011 09:45 PM

hey verbi.........that must be one fast 28 with twin 525's???????.......That extra engine added a lot of weight i see, because you must be around 13,000 LBS since you are asking about that weight????????

It will rock and give you guys with the big guns a battle!!

And the way I figure it if I need more boat I will cut it and add 14 feet to the mid section of the 280 so I can end up with a real 38' !!
Should end up right around your weight I figure!!:grinser010:

cpiefer06 02-24-2011 09:27 PM

Now is that a 38 or a 34/38 or a 38/34 or should we just go with an average of 36??? LOL Sorry I thought it would be funny considering the past posts.

cpiefer06 02-24-2011 09:29 PM

Because I was always told you measure a boat from the front of the trailer to the very end.

Now I hope you know I am kidding.

Sweet!! I saw that boat when it was almost new at a poker run on Lake Michigan. Always loved it.

Are you knocking down some garage walls to make it fit now? LOL.

AJ POWERPLAY 02-25-2011 07:40 PM

My jealousy is running rampant

The ONLY thing I recommend changing is to send your accessory switch & ignition panels to Mitch and have him match it to the rest of your dash panels... he would make it look like it was from the factory
